Polish national broadcaster TVP extends song submission deadline for Eurovision 2025 pre-selection to December 8th, responding to high interest and requests from artists and creators.

Less than a month ago, the Polish national broadcaster, TVP, confirmed its participation in Eurovision 2025, to be held in Basel, Switzerland. Unlike last year, when the representative was chosen through an internal committee, it was decided to use a local Eurovision pre-selection. Today, the Polish national broadcaster announced an extension of the deadline for submitting songs to the Eurovision pre-selection.

Rules and Regulations

The rules for the Polish pre-selection were formulated by the OGAE Poland community together with artists, Polish recording companies, creators, and music producers. This comes after criticism directed at the Polish national broadcaster in 2023 for conducting a “for show” pre-Eurovision selection while actually retaining the power of choice for itself.

Extended Deadline

It has now been announced that the national broadcaster has decided to extend the deadline for submitting songs to the Eurovision pre-selection until Sunday, December 8th at 23:59, instead of December 4th (yesterday). The extension of the song submission deadline was due to the great interest in the auditions and numerous requests received by the national broadcaster from creators and artists wishing to submit a song but requesting an extension of the submission date.

Eligibility and Requirements

To submit a song to the Polish pre-selection, one must be a Polish citizen aged 16 or older as of May 1, 2025. The Eurovision song submitted can be a song that has already been released for free listening, but only later than September 1, 2024. The song must be sent in its final version and must meet all the criteria to participate in Eurovision. The song submission window will close on December 8th. Those who meet the criteria can send their song via the provided link.

Selection Process and Timeline

Artists who pass the long audition process are expected to be revealed on January 14th. The Polish representative for Eurovision 2025 in Basel will be chosen on February 14th at a pre-Eurovision event to be held at the Polish national broadcaster’s headquarters in Warsaw.

“The Tower” is the name of the song performed by singer Luna, who was chosen through an internal selection by the Polish national broadcaster, and represented Poland in the first semi-final of Eurovision 2024. Luna finished 12th in the semi-final with 35 points and did not qualify for the grand final.
