The Polish national broadcaster, TVP, has confirmed its participation in Eurovision 2025 to be held in Basel, Switzerland. Poland will use a national selection to choose its representative, which will take place on February 14.

The Polish national broadcaster, TVP, has confirmed its participation in Eurovision 2025, set to take place in Basel, Switzerland. Poland becomes the 36th country to express interest in participating in Eurovision 2025, following Austria, Australia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Italy, Iceland, Ireland, Albania, Estonia, Belgium, United Kingdom, Georgia, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Greece, Israel, Luxembourg, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Malta, Norway, San Marino, Slovenia, Spain, Serbia, Portugal, Finland, Czech Republic, France, Cyprus, Croatia, Sweden, and host country Switzerland.

National Selection Process

Unlike last year when they opted for an internal committee, Poland will use a national selection this year. The rules for the Polish national selection were formulated by the OGAE Poland community in collaboration with artists, various Polish record companies, songwriters, and music producers. This comes after criticism directed at the Polish national broadcaster in 2023 for conducting a “superficial” national selection while retaining the actual decision-making power.

Submission Guidelines and Timeline

To submit a song for the Polish national selection, one must be a Polish citizen aged 16 or above by May 1, 2025. The Eurovision song submitted can be a previously released song, but only if released after September 1, 2024. The song must be sent in its final version and must meet all criteria to participate in Eurovision. The submission window will close on December 4.

The artists who pass the lengthy audition process, which will take place throughout November and December, will be revealed on January 14. The Polish representative for Eurovision 2025 in Basel will be chosen on February 14 during a national selection event held at the Polish national broadcaster’s headquarters in Warsaw.

“The Tower” is the name of the song performed by singer Luna, who was chosen through an internal selection by the Polish national broadcaster, and represented Poland in the first semi-final of Eurovision 2024. Luna finished 12th in the semi-final with 35 points and did not qualify for the grand final.
