Competition Details and Registration
Registration for the local competition is still open and will close on December 31st, 2024. Applications can be submitted at: unavocepersanmarino.com. The competition rules can be found at the following link. The casting stage will continue until January 14th, 2025. A total of 11 contestants will compete in the final, advancing from six semi-finals – four regular semi-finals, an additional special semi-final for local artists that will also include a “Second Chance” round. San Marino confirmed its participation in Eurovision 2025 by announcing that their representative for the competition will be chosen for the fourth consecutive time in the Eurovision pre-selection “Una Voce per San Marino” (in English: “A Voice for San Marino”), which later changed its name to “San Marino Song Contest!”. The local competition aims to combine the participation of new and well-known artists from around the world.
San Marino has used this pre-selection process to choose their Eurovision representatives since 2022 and has so far failed to qualify for the final. The country’s confirmation of participation in Eurovision came after a statement by San Marino’s Secretary of State, Federico Pedini Amati, in which he indicated a likelihood of the country withdrawing from the competition and complained about unfairness: “There’s something that doesn’t sit right with me. Three years in a row we’re out of the final. First Achille Lauro, then Piqued Jacks, and now Megara. It almost seems like small countries are being punished too much. The game can’t be just for big countries.” Fortunately, the country confirmed its participation in the competition and will continue to bring its music to the contest.
