Armenia’s Eurovision 2025 representative, Parg held his first rehearsal in in Basel with the song “Survivor”. Stay tuned for all updates from Switzerland.
Parg, Armenia’s representative, is the fifth act to rehearse today on the Eurovision 2025 stage with his song “Survivor“. Parg will perform as song number 5 in the second semi-final, scheduled for May 15th.
Parg introduced a completely new stage concept for “Survivor,” distinct from what was seen in the Depi Evratesil. The most noticeable change is the use of “Lego lights”-rectangular lighting fixtures suspended from the arena ceiling. Half of these lights are lowered to nearly head height, while the other half hang at about 2.5 meters. The lights flash and sparkle in sync with the bass, creating a structural effect on stage that feels dark and industrial-entirely different from the rocks and columns seen in the national selection.
More Performance Details
Parg begins his performance in the gap between the two lighting arrays, illuminated by spotlights as if standing inside a tunnel. Most of the performance takes place on a treadmill at center stage, where he runs during the energetic chorus sections and slows down during the slower middle part. The choreography on the treadmill is complex, but it is clear that Parg has worked hard in rehearsals-the entire concept fits seamlessly with the song’s rhythm and energy.
Costume and Pyrotechnics
Another major change is the costume-the armor with the exposed shoulder is gone, replaced by a black tank top and black leather cargo-style pants with studs (loose fit, not tight). After the high note at the end, the Lego lights rise to reveal the stage for Parg’s dramatic final chorus-at this point, it seems every light in the arena switches to strobe mode.
In terms of pyrotechnics, there are large flame jets during the chorus before the middle section, and then the treadmill begins to smoke as if it is catching fire. All the flames are reserved for the grand finale.
The photos from the rehearsal will be updated later.
Armenia at Eurovision 2025
“Survivor” is the song that will be performed by Parg, who will represent Armenia in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2025, scheduled for May 15th in Basel, Switzerland.
The song was co-written by the singer himself along with Benji Alasu, who participated in writing the winning song of Eurovision 2024, “The Code,” and Thomas G:son, who has penned 14 entries for Eurovision, including the Swedish song that won in 2012 (“Euphoria”) and 2023 (“Tattoo”).
Alongside these songwriters, Alex Wilke, Armen Paul, Eva Voskanian, Joshua Curran and Martin Mooradian also contributed to the writing and production of the song. This marks the first Eurovision attempt for these songwriters, including the singer himself. Benji and Thomas are veteran Eurovision songwriters. The song was produced in collaboration with Israeli producer Yanon Yahel and is performed in English.
The song explores the challenging periods in life when we are required to find our inner strength and face obstacles with courage. Currently, the singer is placed at the 33rd place in the betting odds tables.
