Parg:
Parg was born in a remote village in Armenia. He took his first musical steps at a very young age, singing in the church choir until the age of six. His talent was evident from childhood. Later, his family moved to Volgograd, Russia, where he studied at the State Institute of Theatre and Cinema, graduating with a degree in performing arts and acting. During his studies in Volgograd, Parg co-founded the band “The Edge Chronicles.” The band performed in Armenia, Russia, Georgia, and Ukraine between 2017 and 2019, helping him establish himself as a significant artist in the regional music scene.
In 2021, Parg launched his solo career with his debut single “Ginin u Grely,” introducing audiences to his distinctive sound. Recently, he released the song “Araj,” nominated for “Best Music Video” at the Armenian Music Awards.
Parg’s music is deeply rooted in Armenian culture, but what sets him apart is his innovative approach, blending indie-folk, R&B, pop, and rock. Through this fusion, he builds a bridge between Armenia’s musical traditions and contemporary genres, quickly becoming one of the most original figures in Armenia’s pop music scene. His Instagram account, where he shares daily life and musical projects, currently has over 37,000 followers, a number expected to grow significantly as Eurovision approaches.
“Survivor”:
The song explores the challenging periods in life when we are required to find our inner strength and face obstacles with courage. The lyrics express determination and dealing with hardships, using metaphors of physical and psychological battle. The character in the song presents an image of someone who has undergone a long journey of struggles, yet maintains a sense of perseverance and optimism. It describes progressing through pain and struggles as a way to achieve mental toughness and as a motivational force driving them forward.
Additionally, the song highlights the principle of never giving up even when all seems lost. It conveys a message of independence and facing difficult circumstances proactively. The song touches the listener’s heart by creating a sense of identity and appreciation for standing up to challenges, providing hope and inspiration to those struggling to find the strength to continue and not succumb.
The song was co-written by the singer himself along with Benji Alasu, who participated in writing the winning song of Eurovision 2024, “The Code,” and Thomas G:son, who has penned 14 entries for Eurovision, including the Swedish song that won in 2012 (“Euphoria”) and 2023 (“Tattoo”).
Alongside these creators, Alex Wilke, Armen Paul, Eva Voskanian, Joshua Curran and Martin Mooradian also contributed to the writing and production of the song. This marks the first Eurovision attempt for these creators, including the singer himself. Benji and Thomas are veteran Eurovision songwriters. The song was produced in collaboration with Israeli producer Yanon Yahel and is performed in English.
Lyrics of “Survivor”:
I got my bad shades on
Jet-black am in ma zone
I’m sick of the news
I’m sick of the views
I’m sick of the lies they’ve told
Come on and shine the light
Come on and shine on me
Guess you can see
I don’t believe
Anything they told me
Letting me down
Lifting me up
Keeping me slow
But I can’t stop
It’s tearing me apart
I’m alive
Tryna look up, atop of a rock
Climbing these heights, man
I can’t stop at all
I’m standing tall
I’m a survivor
Stay aliver
Do or die in my prime
I’m a fighter
I’m a survivor
Won’t be tied up
Break from the pain
Take your place, I’ll remind ya
I’m a survivor
Break from the pain
Take your place, I’ll remind ya
Kicking me, breaking me
But I won’t stop
Pushing me, pulling me
I will get up
Hitting me, mocking me
Stabbing me, crushing me
Tearing me, burning me
I’ll never stop
I could have lost my way
I could have made mistakes
I bled a lot, more than you thought
But I didn’t fade away
Say you’ll break me down
And bring me to my knees
You can do it
Can you prove it?
But you ain’t got shit on me
I’m a survivor
Break from the pain
Take your place, I’ll remind ya
I’m a survivor
Stay aliver
Do or die in my prime
I’m a fighter
I’m a survivor
Won’t be tied up
Break from the pain
Take your place, I’ll remind ya
Breathe in breathe out it’s all done
Never forget who you are
Breathe in breathe out it’s all done
Never forget who you are
I’m a survivor
Stay aliver
Do or die in my prime
I’m a fighter
I’m a survivor
Won’t be tied up
Break from the pain
Take your place, I’ll remind ya
I’m a survivor
I’m a survivor
Break from the pain
Take your place
Survivor
Break from the pain
Take your place
Survivor
Break from the pain
Take your place
I’m а ѕurvivor
