Lithuania’s Eurovision 2025 representatives, Katarsis, held their second rehearsal in Basel with the song “Tavo akyss.” Stay tuned for all updates from Switzerland.
Katasis, Lithuania’s Eurovision 2025 representatives, were the eighth act to rehearse today on the Eurovision 2025 stage with their song “Tavo akys”. They will perform as song number 8 in the secound semi-final, scheduled for May 15th.
The rehearsal clip opens with the lead singer and two guitarists walking toward the front of the stage, while a top-down camera angle creates the impression that the ground beneath them is cracking. The blowing wind effect and the flashing lights, synchronized with the rhythm of the song, amplify the drama and highlight the song’s intensity.
Choreography, Lighting, and Dramatic Ending
Katarsis maintains the spirit of their act from the Lithuanian selection, with a performance that will be very similar but adapted for the larger stage and also a variety of effects. The band members wear blue costumes, and the screens display a bleak landscape. The exploding house and flying rocks that appeared on the screens during the song’s climax in the pre-selection also appear on the Eurovision stage, but in a bigger and more impressive way. This time, the effect will include the LED floor and add to the overall atmosphere. The camera angles remain similar in terms of the performance flow, with the addition of several wide shots and new perspectives.
During the performance, the band members are spaced farther apart than in the pre-selection, and in the second verse, lead singer Lukas Radzevičius moves toward the front of the stage with the frame, accompanied by guitarist Andrius Gruodis, bassist Emilija Kandratavičiūtė. On the Basel stage, there is much more use of lighting, with the singer’s face sometimes half in light and half in shadow. In addition, a wind machine is used, and the lead singer struggles against it in parts of the song. The atmosphere is much more dynamic and features more dramatic lighting than in the pre-selection.
Toward the end of the performance, the rectangular lighting fixtures above the stage descends to create the effect of a pair of wings, and the strobe lights in the back form the word “TAVO”. The song ends with a dramatic flash of white light.
Lithuania at Eurovision 2025
“Tavo akys” is the song that will be performed by Katarsis, who will represent Lithuania as the 8th act in the running order in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2025, taking place on May 15th in Basel, Switzerland.
The song uses a dramatic metaphor to describe the destructive effects of empty and meaningless words in interpersonal relationships. It employs imagery to symbolize the emotional and physical devastation caused by aggression and lies within relationships. The depiction of a collapsing house reflects the ongoing breakdown of emotional stability and mutual trust, emphasizing the turbulent emotions that accompany this inner struggle.
Lithuania is currently in 24th place in the betting odds for Eurovision 2025.
