Spain in Eurovision 2025: Singer Melody took the stage for her first rehearsal with the song “Esa Diva”. Stay updated with all the reports from Basel, Switzerland

The Spanish singer Melody was the fifteenth and last act to rehearse today on the Eurovision 2025 stage with her song “Esa Diva“. She will perform in the first semi-final on May 13th between song number 4 (Estonia) and song number 5 (Ukraine), and in the grand final to be held on May 17th.

Spain wraps up the evening’s rehearsals with Melody performing her pop anthem “Esa Diva.” Melody is a seasoned pop star in Spain, with more than 30 singles and six albums to her credit. The song radiates a summer party atmosphere, and the dance remix was just the beginning of a complete overhaul since Melody’s victory at Benidorm Fest in February. The previous staging elements-the swing entrance, the throne, and the pink neon lights-have all been replaced.

“Esa Diva” is about the real meaning of being a diva-not someone who acts superior, but a woman who is powerful, brave, and true to herself, expressing her identity through music and art. The song’s message is one of equality and female empowerment, emphasizing that any woman can be a diva, whether she’s performing on stage or juggling the challenges of everyday life.

Spain at Eurovision 2025: More details about the rehearsal performance

The new staging is sleek and sophisticated, with a clear storyline that divides the performance into three separate acts, each bursting with energy and emotion. Each section has its own color palette and visual style: purple in the first, red in the second, and pure white for the finale, which blends seamlessly with the mountainous background behind the stage.

The lineup of five dancers – three men and two women – changes with each act, and the choreography is unique in every section. The performance is intricately structured, but Melody commands the stage throughout with confidence and presence.

Her outfit is especially striking: a black corset with sharply defined shoulders and waist, reminiscent of a black orchid, paired with a black fedora and thigh-high black boots. The performance opens with her silhouette against a white background, and every detail, from her nails to her hair, is styled like a piece of art.

The final ten seconds feature a dance break that is a true highlight-one that simply has to be seen to be believed.

Spain in Eurovision 2025

Esa Diva” (in English: “That Diva”) is the title of the song to be performed by singer Melody, who will represent Spain at Eurovision 2025, which will take place in Basel, Switzerland, in the grand final to be held on May 17th. The song was written by Alberto Fuentes Lorite and the singer herself – Melodia Ruiz Gutiérrez. This is the first Eurovision entry for both songwriters. The song is performed exclusively in Spanish.

The song deals with the true meaning of being a diva – not someone who looks down on others, but a strong, brave, and authentic woman who expresses herself through her music and art. It emphasizes a message of equality, female empowerment, and the recognition that a diva can be any woman, whether she is a singer on stage or a mother facing everyday challenges.

Currently, Spain is ranked 19th in the betting odds ahead of Eurovision 2025.
