Luxembourg launches an international songwriting camp to create the next Eurovision hit. The event features elite creators, including the producer behind the iconic winning tracks “Euphoria” and “Tattoo”.

While the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest has yet to begin, preparations for Eurovision 2027 are already in full swing. The Luxembourgish musical institution Rocklab has announced the return of its Eurovision Songwriting Camp. This four-day intensive event aims to unite local talent with international creators to craft potential entries for the national selection, the “Luxembourg Song Contest 2027.”

The camp is scheduled to take place from May 29 to June 2, 2026, with registration for songwriters, producers, and performers open until April 26. Although the camp is not a direct branch of the national broadcaster RTL, organizers have indicated that songs developed during the session often reach the national final stage, as seen in previous years. While RTL has not yet officially confirmed its participation for 2027, the activity at Rocklab signals a clear intention to continue the nation’s renewed Eurovision legacy.

A Team of Elite Eurovision Experts

The lineup of mentors and creators guiding the camp includes some of the most successful names in the Eurovision world from recent years:

  • Peter Boström – The Swedish producer and writer responsible for two historic victories by Loreen – “Euphoria” (2012) and “Tattoo” (2023).

  • Greig Watts – A producer and creative director who has supervised 18 Eurovision entries over the last 11 years. His credits include “Hollow” by Dons (Latvia 2024), “Laika Party” by Emmy (Ireland 2025), and “Solo” by Blanka (Poland 2023).

  • Imad Eljattari – A publisher and A&R expert involved in six songs that competed in Luxembourg’s recent national selections.

  • Maria Broberg – A songwriter who co-wrote Luxembourg’s 2026 entry “Mother Nature” for Eva Marija, as well as “Solo” for Blanka (Poland 2023) and “Stay” for Anna Odobescu (Moldova 2019).

  • Abi F Jones – Co-writer of the 2022 Czech entry, “Lights Off” by We Are Domi.

  • Larissa Tormey – Co-writer of the Irish entry “Laika Party” by Emmy for Eurovision 2025.

Registration and Selection Process

Artists and songwriters interested in participating and potentially submitting a song for the contest must complete the registration form. Candidates will be selected based on specific criteria: the quality and potential of previous works, recommendations, experience in songwriting (specifically Eurovision camps), and professional background as writers, producers, or performers. The deadline for submission is April 26, and selected applicants will be notified via email. For further inquiries, contact: [email protected].

While the camp looks ahead to 2027, Luxembourg is currently preparing for the upcoming Eurovision 2026. The representative Eva Marija will perform the song “Mother Nature” in the first half of the second semi-final on May 14. This marks a historical milestone for the country, as it is the first time Luxembourg will be represented by a song not featuring one of its official languages. Notably, the song for Eva Marija was born during a previous edition of the Rocklab songwriting camp, underscoring the event’s vital role in the local music industry.

Luxembourg in Eurovision 2026

Mother Nature” is the title of the song that will be performed by Eva Marija, who will represent Luxembourg at Eurovision 2026, to be held in Vienna, Austria, in the first half of the second semi-final on May 14th. The song was written by Eva together with Thomas Stengaard, who has been responsible for many Eurovision songs, including the winning entry of Eurovision 2013, “Only Teardrops”, Maria Broberg, who was among the writers of Poland’s 2023 entry “Solo” and Moldova’s 2019 entry “Stay”, and Julie Aagaard, who co-wrote the United Kingdom’s 2025 song “What The Hell Just Happened”, Austria’s 2024 entry “We Will Rave”, and Malta’s 2022 song “I Am What I Am”. The song is performed in English.

Mother Nature” explores an inner journey of growth, healing, and reconnection with self through nature. The singer reflects on her past — the innocence of when “the seed was planted” — recognizing that even good things evolve and end. Amid storms, doubts, and identity questions, she finds stability in nature’s forces: the earth, the roots, the wind, and the cyclic rhythm of life.

At these days, Luxembourg is ranked 16th in the betting odds.

Eurovision 2026: This will be Luxembourg’s 40th participation in Eurovision. Luxembourg joined the competition in 1956, was one of the seven founding countries, and has won it five times over the years. Luxembourg’s last victory was at Eurovision 1983 with the song “Si la vie est cadeau” performed by singer Corinne Hermès. In 2024, Luxembourg returned to the competition after a 31-year absence.
