Cyprus’ Second Rehearsal: More Details

Song number eight of the second semi-final continues to burn up the stage. It appears that Antigoni is making good use of the massive table she brought on stage, as toward the chorus, it seems four dancers are positioned beneath it – a detail that was unknown during the first rehearsal. Antigoni is dressed in a white and sparkling “Aphrodite” dress, which looks as if it were sewn specifically for the scorching summer nights of Nicosia. The leading colors in the scenery are blue, orange, and white, while giant columns in the style of Ancient Greece appear on the screen during the chorus. The video cuts off just as Antigoni begins the dance, in the transition segment between the chorus and the verse.

The video shows the moment before the first chorus, where the dancers started under the table, emerged at the start of the chorus, and climbed onto it to dance along with Antigoni. Next to Antigoni during the video stands a white chair, with which and upon which she will dance during the performance, against the backdrop of two rows of columns.

Does the short clip reflect the atmosphere of the entire performance? If so, it seems that Cyprus is making giant strides toward the grand final.
