Members of the Euromix editorial team convened to vote for the competing songs in Chefsache ESC 2025. Who should represent Germany at Eurovision 2025 according to the editorial team?
The German Eurovision national selection, “Chefsache ESC 2025”, is set to take place tonight at 20:15, featuring 9 contestants. The winner of this local competition will represent Germany at Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. In anticipation of this event, Euromix editorial team members gathered to listen to the participating songs and select their favorites from the German national selection.
Editorial Picks: Who Should Represent Germany?
Avi Zaikaner: First Place – The Great Leslie – “These Days”
The Great Leslie takes the stage with a fun vibe, charismatic performance, and lots of rock ‘n’ roll! The song is nice, but nothing more than that. The “spoken” chorus is quite weak and not captivating, but it’s the best thing that can come out of this weak national selection. Good luck Germany! I have a feeling you’ll need a lot of luck to succeed this year!
Ofek Jerassi: First Place – Abor & Tynna – “Baller”
I’ve covered extensively the changes made in Germany, the grandiose collaboration between RTL and ARD, and especially the Germans’ great hope to change something, and they disappointed. My favorite song by far in this national selection is Abor & Tynna‘s “Baller”. I was happy to hear a song in German in the German national final, and also a catchy one with good production and an excellent chorus. Germany is not known for its great pride in its language, so I assume the song won’t be chosen, but I’m still hopeful.
Guy Solo: First Place – Abor & Tynna – “Baller”
I remember very well that Stefan Raab announced that Germany was going to win Eurovision this year. Well, Stefan, the greater the expectation – the greater the disappointment. I’m sorry, it feels a bit like “San Marino Song Contest” to me. The only ones who manage to stand out a bit above the rest are Abor & Tynna with the song “Baller” (translated as: Shooter). The song, in an electronic pop style with a catchy chorus, deals with coping with a painful breakup, feelings of loss and disappointment, but also with a determined decision not to look back. As usual, Germany, which automatically qualifies for the final, will finish on the right side of the scoreboard in the grand final.
Ronnie Glik: First Place – Feuerschwantz – “Knightclub”
I chose the perfect rock band for first place! In my opinion, they are the best option for Germany and will bring the best result out of all the songs. Germany, of course, won’t win Eurovision this year, despite Stefan Raab’s unfounded claim – none of the songs will even reach the top 10.
Tal Dahan: First Place – Cosby – “I’m Still Here”
Contrary to the quote from the creator of the national selection, Stefan Raab, a few months ago, I have no doubt that Germany will not win Eurovision 2025. The best song in the local national selection didn’t make it to the final – “if jesus saw what we did last night” by Cloudy June, a singer I got to know this season. But from among the finalists, I chose “I’m Still Here” by Cosby. The song starts calmly and develops into a kind of rock ballad, a style I connect with (when sung by a woman, of course). Although the singer needs to improve vocally, the emotional performance made me curious about what other songs are hidden in her discography, and that’s exactly what I’m looking for in the Eurovision competition.
Maayan Eli: First Place – Feuerschwantz – “Knightclub”
We really need one like this in Eurovision. It’s fun, it’s metal, and it’s parody in its best form. I didn’t know what to expect when I realized they were participating, since they’re strongly into folk metal, but there’s something in me that’s pleased with the result. This is undoubtedly a party I want to be part of. The song slightly reminds me of Children of Bodom’s cover album, and there’s nothing as satisfying as singing “Oops!…I Did It Again” (originally by Britney, of course) in the metal version at the top of your lungs. “Knightclub” totally broadcasts on the same wavelength, and I’d be happy to sing about a nightclub in medieval costume at Eurovision.

Eurovision 2025: This will be Germany’s 68th participation in Eurovision. Germany joined the competition in 1956, was one of the seven founding countries, and has won twice over the years. Germany’s last victory was in Eurovision 2010 with the song “Satellite” performed by singer Lena Meyer-Landrut.
