Eurovision week has officially arrived! Today at 13:45, just two days before the first semi-final on May 13, Basel will host the official and festive opening ceremony of Eurovision 2025. The ceremony will take place at Messe Basel, a venue known for hosting events, conferences, and concerts.

Starting at 13:45, watch the Eurovision opening ceremony live!

The opening ceremony marks the official start of Eurovision 2025 events and welcomes all delegations participating in this year’s contest. Out of the 37 competing acts, those who choose to do so will walk the turquoise carpet alongside their delegation members, receiving a warm welcome from both the local and international press (including the Euromix team from Israel). The opening ceremony is a fantastic opportunity to meet the contestants up close and conduct personal interviews in a relaxed and festive atmosphere.

This year’s turquoise carpet is the longest ever-1.3 kilometers-beginning at Basel’s Town Hall, crossing the Middle Bridge, and ending at Messe Basel, where the ceremony will be held. About halfway along the route, at Marktplatz, the contestants will board a retro-style tram that will take them to the end of the carpet, where they will participate in interviews with the international media.

Eurovision 2025: The 69th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Basel, Switzerland, on May 13, 15, and 17, 2025. The St. Jakobshalle arena, which will host the competition, is expected to accommodate about 12,000 spectators for each show. The contest will take place in Switzerland following the country’s third historical win with the song “The Code”, performed by singer Nemo. This will be the third time the competition has been hosted in Switzerland, after the contest was held there in 1956 and 1989.
