Norway at Eurovision 2026: Jonas Lovv will perform the song “Ya Ya Ya” in the second semi-final on May 14th in Vienna, Austria. Listen to the song.

“Ya Ya Ya” is the song performed by Jonas Lovv, who will represent Norway in Eurovision 2026 taking place in Vienna, Austria, in the second semi-final on May 14th. The song was written by the singer himself together with Sondre Skaftun. The song is performed in English. Jonas won over 8 other contestants in the Norwegian national final “Melodi Grand Prix 2026,” which was held tonight.

The Norwegian final was held tonight in a live broadcast from Håkons Hall in Lillehammer, hosted by Marte Stokstad, Markus Neby, and Ronny Brede Aase. The winner was determined by a combination of votes from a professional jury (50%) and the public televote (50%).

Jonas and the band stand on a small stage in the center of the stage, with red lighting and Jonas positioned in the middle. Behind them, an LED screen displays the words “YA YA YA.” After the chorus, the camera zooms in on Jonas, and later he steps down from the small stage and approaches the audience. The band remains behind, continuing to play while close-up shots are captured. Later, Jonas moves to the main stage and continues the performance from there.

The song describes a turbulent and passionate relationship, where love involves deep emotional pain and a feeling of losing control. The narrator presents himself as someone ruled by impulses (“I’m an animal, I got no self control”) and compares heartbreak to “broken bones” and a heart being shot repeatedly—metaphors illustrating intense emotional damage. Alongside the attraction, there are hints of betrayal and distrust (“Pretty little liar”), reinforcing the sense of a destructive yet addictive relationship. The repetition in the chorus and sounds like “ya-ya-ya” emphasize obsession and difficulty letting go, portraying love as a powerful, chaotic, and painful force that is hard to escape.

Lyrics – “YA YA YA”

(Ahh… ya ya ya ya)
(Ahh… ya ya ya ya)

You’ve been thinking ’bout love
How it got you so low
Baby, I’m an animal
I got no self-control

Left it right all over you and your pretty clothes
Ay ay ay, ay ay ay
I got some broken bones
Ay ay ay, ay ay ay

I know it won’t let go, ya ya ya ya
Won’t let go, ya ya ya ya

Pretty little liar, put your makeup on, ya ya ya ya
Bang, bang, like you want it
Like you know I’m gonna love it
Bang, bang, goes that broken heart

Bleeding right all over me till I fall apart
Ay ay ay, ay ay ay
I got some broken boneѕ
Ay ay ay, ay ay ay

I know it won’t let go, ya ya ya ya
Won’t let go, ya ya ya ya

(Ahh… ya ya ya ya)
(Ya ya ya, ya ya ya)
(Ya ya ya, ya ya ya, ya…)

Go… ya ya ya ya
Won’t let go, ya ya ya ya
(Ya ya ya, ya ya ya)
