Malta’s Eurovision 2026 representative, Aidan, held his second rehearsal in Vienna with the song “Bella”. Stay tuned for all updates from Austria.
The lights in the Austrian capital shone for the Maltese artist Aidan today, as he took to the Eurovision 2026 stage for a polished second rehearsal of “Bella” (in English: “Beautiful”). Delivering a performance that feels like a live cinematic music video, the singer showcased a hypnotic blend of high fashion and daring stage technology, utilizing the largest prop seen this year at the Wiener Stadthalle. With a virtuoso upgrade to the famous “tornado” moment via a fly-cam, Malta made it clear today that it is aiming for the top with a level of visual precision rarely seen in the current competition.
A Tornado of Emotions on Stage
The clip released from the rehearsal begins with the artist approaching the camera against a black background. At that moment, he appears to enter a sort of carousel; throughout the chorus, he spins at a rapid pace while the camera rotates in sync with him. The singer manages to maintain vocal stability despite the constant spinning. In the second half of the chorus, the entire frame shifts to a bright red hue as the performer enters a tornado of rose petals surrounding him, as he “tries not to be swept away.”
Malta’s second Rehearsal: More Details
The performance has undoubtedly undergone a significant upgrade since the Maltese national selection. This technique gives “Bella” a visual depth that makes viewers feel as though they are being drawn into a stormy romantic dream at the center of the stage. Furthermore, the artist wears a particularly unique look: a rare archive suit designed by the late Gianni Versace, one of only 20 pieces existing worldwide.
Chasing a Spot in the Grand Final
Performing as song number 14 in the second semi-final, the singer wastes no time, positioning himself within a massive architectural structure that offers a modern, glamorous interpretation of classic design. The structure is considered the largest stage prop seen so far at the Wiener Stadthalle, allowing the artist to move within it with extraordinary charismatic confidence.
As one of the 35 nations participating in Vienna this year, will the combination of Italian luxury and dizzying technical innovation be enough for Malta to secure its place in the Grand Final?
