The creators of BANGARANGA reveals how the Eurovision 2026 winning song “BANGARANGA” started as an anonymous 2023 studio demo in Sofia

Following the major win of Dara at Eurovision 2026 in Vienna, The Bulgarian singer has revealed the secret to success at Eurovision 2026. The winning song of Eurovision 2026 was not born overnight in glamorous mega-studios as many tend to think. A surprising post recently uploaded to the social media platform Instagram reveals the fascinating story behind the track, disclosing that the major international hit actually began its journey as a completely anonymous and experimental studio session back in 2023, during an intimate songwriting camp held in the country that ultimately led to the crazy victory under the main stage lights.

It all started when the young star walked into the recording studio of the Sofia Songwriting Camp, which took place at the Bulgarian Yastrebets Hotel. Waiting for her in that room were a songwriter from Norway named Anne Judith and the Romanian producer Monoir. The three began working together on an initial beat, and out of the silence, a pulsing, unexpected style began to take shape, full of inner strength and freedom of movement. In the video attached to the post, the team members can be seen listening to a first taste of the early demo and dancing enthusiastically together in the studio, without knowing that at those exact moments, they were holding the song that would conquer all of Europe.

Only a few years later, this raw and wild energy received a significant upgrade when the highly experienced Greek composer, Dimitris Kontopoulos, joined the picture and polished the piece. The combination of his professional, seasoned touch and the experimental foundation written at that songwriting camp was what breathed new life into the initial idea, transforming it from an amateur studio recording into the winning hit of the year.

At the end of the emotional post, the creators chose to warmly thank the key people who accompanied them throughout the long journey and believed in their vision from the very first moment, including the senior Bulgarian producer Sanya Armoutlieva and the experienced music industry figure Robin Jenssen. This extraordinary story opens a window for fans into the complex world of creation, proving once again that behind every massive hit in the competition often lies Sisyphean work spanning many years.
