Eurovision 2026 winner Dara breaks the all-time Spotify streaming record for a Bulgarian artist, surpassing Azis with her winning entry “Bangaranga”
Just two months have passed since the historic and sweeping victory of Bulgaria on the Eurovision stage in Vienna, and the achievements continue to pile up even after the contest. Over the past weekend, the song achieved an unprecedented milestone when “Bangaranga“, performed by the country’s representative and contest winner, Dara, officially became the most-streamed song of all time by a Bulgarian artist on the streaming platform Spotify.
The massive hit has accumulated 42.373 million streams to date, thereby surpassing and dethroning the previous titleholder, the renowned local pop-folk singer Azis, whose successful song “Sen Trope” now stands in second place with 42.227 million streams.
Bulgaria’s New Streaming Queen
The phenomenal success of Dara does not stop at the cumulative stream count of her Eurovision song. The singer has firmly established her status as the leading artist in Bulgaria, currently ranking first among all Bulgarian artists in monthly Spotify listeners, with an astonishing figure of approximately 3.9 million listeners each month.
As a reminder, the song “Bangaranga” was written and produced, among others, by the Romanian producer Monoir and the Greek composer well-known to fans of the contest, Dimitris Kontopoulos, who is responsible for many beloved Eurovision entries such as “Scream” and “This Is Our Night”. The song gave Bulgaria its first-ever victory in the contest after scoring 516 points, capturing first place in both the jury vote and the public televote.
Beyond Bulgaria: The Eurovision winner captivates audiences
Beyond the honorable achievement in Bulgaria, the singer broke the streaming record for Eurovision 2026 songs and holds the title of the most-streamed song from this year’s contest on Spotify. Dara dethroned the Italian song “Per sempre sì” by Sal Da Vinci, which had been dominating the international charts.
In addition, the singer conquered the top of the most-viewed videos on the official Eurovision YouTube channel by an exceptional margin over the past two months. Since her victory, Dara has generated massive buzz across social networks and conquered almost every possible chart. Within just three weeks, the singer’s grand final performance reached a staggering 18 million views, and today it stands at 23 million views.
For comparison, the grand final performance of Austria’s JJ, winner of Eurovision 2025 with the song “Wasted Love“, stands a year later at the same milestone as Dara, who has already managed to surpass it by several thousand views in a short period of time.
