Tamara Živković:
Tamara Živković is a Montenegrin musician who took the Eurovision fandom by storm last year when she stepped in to replace an artist who withdrew from the local national selection, “Montesong 2024”.
Following that unexpected opportunity, she attempted to represent Montenegro in the 2025 contest with the song “Poguban Let” (“Fatal Flight”). Although she quickly became a major favorite among Eurovision fans, she ultimately finished in ninth place. Undeterred, she returned to the competition this year for a second attempt with her entry, “Nova Zora” (“New Dawn”). Right from the moment the songs were revealed, Tamara was widely considered the absolute frontrunner to win the selection – and true to expectations, she successfully claimed the victory! Alongside her national final journey, Tamara has released several singles over the past year, though they have yet to achieve significant commercial success.
“Nova Zora”:
The song is a powerful anthem of female empowerment, describing a profound process of awakening and personal liberation. It tells the story of breaking away from a suffocating and toxic relationship, where the protagonist refuses to be redefined by others and chooses to walk away out of strength rather than weakness.
The lyrics explore this emotional journey through vivid imagery of storms, rain, and lightning, symbolizing deep emotional turmoil. This turbulence leads to a fateful moment of change and a rebirth – a “new dawn” (“Nova Zora”) – representing a clean, independent start. The song strongly emphasizes a clear message of empowerment: a woman breaking free from her chains, strong and beautiful in her own right, who extracts herself from emotional poison to find internal, self-reliant love. Ultimately, it is a declarative, non-romantic text that presents a breakup not as a tragedy, but as a necessary ending from which a complete, self-aware, and confident identity can blossom.
The singer, who secured her spot by winning “Montesong” (the Montenegrin national selection), will perform a track written by Boris Subotić and produced by Subotić alongside Marko Drežnjak. Subotić is already a familiar name in the Eurovision world, having penned Montenegro’s entry last year (“Dobrodošli”) and previously competed in the Serbian national final in 2023.
Lyrics of “Nova Zora”:
Ko je ovdje ko? Ma kraj je
Moj je jači hod, za dalje
Iz srca sad vadim olovo
Sve je gotovo, sve je gotovo
(Lijepe žene, jake kao stijene, žene)
(Lijepe žene, lijepe su zbog sebe)
Finally breathin’ and finding love inside
Kiša traje, kiša traje, nebo znak mi daje
Grmi sijeva, grmi sijeva, sudbina se mijenja
O-ou, o-o-ou, o-ou-ou
Iza gora, iza mora, rodila se nova zora
(Nova zora)
Ko si ti da mi pričaš, ko sam ja?
Da l’ ću doć’ ili poć’? Ja sam otišla
Sve što vodi do tebe, sam srušila
Iz tvojih otrova, se Sunce probija
I nova zora zasija
(Lijepe žene, jake kao stijene, žene)
(Lijepe žene, lijepe su zbog sebe)
Finally breathin’ and finding love inside
Kiša traje, kiša traje, nebo znak mi daje
Grmi sijeva, grmi sijeva, sudbina se mijenja
O-ou, o-o-ou, o-ou-ou
Iza gora, iza mora, rodila se nova zora
Nema okova, nema okova, nema
Kô od gromova rođena žena
Nema okova, nema okova, nema
Kô od gromova rođena žena
Kiša traje, kiša traje, nebo znak mi daje
Grmi sijeva, grmi sijeva, sudbina se mijenja
O-ou, o-o-ou, o-ou-ou
Iza gora, iza mora, rodila ѕe nova zora
