Submission Details and Competition Format

The broadcaster has opened the song submission window, which will remain open until November 11, 2024. This year, they have extended the submission period in hopes of encouraging more people to write and submit songs, not just those who already have a song prepared. To submit a song to the selection committee, participants must comply with the competition’s regulations, which require the competing artists to be a Lithuanian citizens, although there are no restrictions on the nationality of the songwriters. The full competition rules and registration form can be found on their website.

The competition will follow the same format as last year, with no more than five semi-finals, the number of which will depend on the number of entries. The results in the semi-finals and the final will be determined by a combination of a jury (50%) and public voting (50%). Ultimately, the top three songs in the final will be performed again, and the audience will have the final say in choosing Lithuania’s representative.

The dates for the semi-finals and the final have not yet been announced, but the first semi-final is scheduled for January 2025. Additionally, this year, the Lithuanian broadcaster will continue to provide financial support to the competitors to improve their performances in the competition. Last year, each contestant received a budget of 1,500 euros for their performance production.

Lithuania’s Eurovision History

Lithuania’s best result remains sixth place in Eurovision 2006, when LT United represented the country with the song “We Are The Winners.” In recent years, Lithuania has consistently reached the finals, with four consecutive appearances since Eurovision 2021.
