Evangelia confirms she is open to competing in Greece’s “Sing For Greece” selection for Eurovision 2027 with the right song. Marseaux rules out for now.
Greece has already confirmed its participation in Eurovision 2027 and announced that its national selection, “Sing For Greece,” will return for a third consecutive year after delivering two straight top-10 finishes for the country. Now, several artists who competed in last year’s selection are revealing whether fans can expect to see them battling for the Greek ticket once again.

Evangelia Psarakis, better known simply as Evangelia, has become one of the most familiar names in Eurovision circles. In recent years, she has persistently pursued the chance to represent both Greece and Cyprus, submitting songs to each country’s selection process. Several of those entries were later released as official singles, including “Ónira” (“Dreaming”), which she submitted for Greece’s Eurovision 2022 selection, “Aphrodite,” which was entered into Cyprus’ internal selection the same year, and “Pali,” which she submitted for Greece’s 2023 selection.
In 2025, she returned to Greece’s national final and finished as runner-up with “Vale,” ending just two points behind Klavdia, who went on to represent Greece at Eurovision and finished sixth. Evangelia remained determined and tried again in 2026 with “Parea,” ultimately placing fourth in the national selection.
Although she has been chasing Eurovision since the beginning of the decade, Evangelia has no intention of giving up. She has confirmed that she remains open to competing in Eurovision 2027 – provided she finds the right song.
The Singer Who Isn’t Ready to Return
Marseaux, who competed in last year’s Greek national final with “Xanomai” and finished third, one place above Evangelia, has revealed that she is not planning to return to the competition in the near future.
“It’s definitely part of my plans and dreams to try again at some point. I think I will compete again. Not anytime soon, but I believe it will happen eventually,” she said.
Marseaux has become one of Greece’s most successful pop artists in recent years, enjoying major commercial success. Together with Evangelia, she released “Alitheia?!” (“Really?!”), which became a major hit in Greece.
Is third time a Charm?
The Greek national final “Sing for Greece” is considered a significant springboard for Greece. The new national final, which selected the Greek entries for the past two years, brought high achievements to the country. Klavdia represented Greece at Eurovision 2025 with the song “Asteromata” (in English: “Starry Eyes”) and finished in sixth place, and a year later, Akylas and the song “Ferto” (in English: “Bring It”) also managed to bring Greece to tenth place – will Greece manage to bring another hit to the upcoming contest? If we rely on the achievements of the songs chosen so far – it seems that Greece is aiming high and planning to stay strongly in the picture.
Greece at Eurovision 2026
“Ferto” (in English: “Bring it”) was the song performed by the singer Akylas, which represented Greece in Vienna, Austria. The song, co-written by Akylas and Teo Pouzbouris, was known as Freaky Fortune, one of Greece’s representatives at Eurovision 2014. The song finished tenth in the grand final, receiving 220 points. This split to 73 points from the jury, placing him 12th, and 147 points from the public, placing him sixth.
Eurovision 2027: This will be Greece’s 47th participation in Eurovision. Greece joined the competition in 1974 and achieved its best result in Eurovision 2005 when singer Helena Paparizou won first place with the song “My Number One”.
