“It would be an immense honor”: Swiss TV host Michelle Hunziker declares her willingness to host the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland.

Michelle Hunziker, a prominent European television host, beauty entrepreneur, and media personality, has recently expressed her willingness to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel. Well-known for her work across Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany, Hunziker revealed her aspirations during a visit to her native Switzerland.




As part of Switzerland Tourism’s fall campaign, Hunziker visited Zurich where she shared her enthusiasm for potentially hosting Eurovision. In an interview with Swiss news site Blick.ch, she stated, “I would accept the role of hosting Eurovision in Basel without hesitation.”

Hunziker boasts extensive experience in hosting television shows and major events. Hosting Eurovision, considered Europe’s largest television event with approximately 150 million viewers annually, could mark a significant milestone in her career. She added, “Of course, I would do it with pleasure. It would be an immense honor.”

While preparations for Eurovision in Basel are underway, no official decision has been made regarding the identity or number of hosts. Hunziker noted, “I haven’t been officially approached yet. I’m waiting for an invitation.” Edi Estermann, spokesperson for Swiss broadcaster SRG, commented, “The hosting is closely tied to the show’s concept. It’s currently under discussion.”

The final decision on hosts is expected to be made early next year, adding an element of anticipation to the Eurovision 2025 preparations. With Hunziker’s expressed interest, fans and organizers alike are eager to see who will ultimately take the stage in Basel
