Song Details and Production

The music video for “Older” was directed by Ofir Peretz, who previously worked on Golan’s Eurovision hit “Hurricane”. Choreography for the new release was crafted by Avihai Haham, who collaborated with Eden during her Eurovision journey.

Lyrical Themes and Inspiration

Golan reveals that “Older” delves into the challenges and obstacles individuals face during their youth, particularly as children when they have little control over their circumstances. Despite their tender age, these difficulties play a crucial role in shaping each person’s future. The song explores how such hardships can force children to mature prematurely, addressing the concept of growing up too fast. This theme resonates with many listeners who have experienced similar situations in their own lives.

Artist’s Message to Fans

In anticipation of the song’s release, Eden Golan took to Instagram to connect with her fanbase, building excitement for her latest single:

“I wrote this song for you, for me, for us, for the children of now and the future. It’s about the hardships and obstacles we face as young children that are completely out of our control but still so deeply impact the rest of our lives. It’s about these experiences where we have to quite literally grow ‘older’ — older than we should be — but these moments make us stronger and better for others and for ourselves.”

The singer expressed hope that “Older” would provide strength to her listeners, just as it did for her during its creation.

A Significant Performance at the UN

In the coming days, the Israeli singer is expected to perform at the UN headquarters as part of a memorial ceremony marking one year since the massacre of October 7. Eden Golan will perform “October Rain” at the UN, the song that was disqualified by the European Broadcasting Union from participating in Eurovision. The event will be attended by families of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza, Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz, US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield, and diplomats from various countries.
