Competition Format and Voting System

Eight songs will participate in each broadcast. The voting system has changed from previous years in which in both semi-finals and the final, the results were determined by a panel of judges accounting for 50% of the total vote, 25% from a demoscopic vote, and 25% from the general public. This year, RTVE has eliminated the demoscopic vote, and the results will be determined by 50% jury and 50% televote.

Spain was among the first countries to confirm their participation in Eurovision 2025, to be held in Basel, Switzerland. A few days after the Eurovision 2024 final, the Spanish national broadcaster opened the song submission window for the national selection, and approximately 1,000 songs were submitted, a significant increase compared to last year’s 825 entries and 2023’s 876 submissions.
