According to Greek media, Greece is expected to unveil its Eurovision selection participants on January 10th, likely along with their competing songs!

Greece’s first Eurovision national final in 22 years will take place on January 30th, where the representative and song for Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland, will be chosen. It has now been revealed that the selection participants will be unveiled on Friday, January 10th, following delays caused by a national mourning period declared in Greece after the death of a former Prime Minister. To honor this major event, ERT has chosen the Christmas Theater in Athens to host this exciting occasion.

The announcement of the 12 artists who will participate in the Eurovision selection is expected to occur this coming Friday, with a good chance that the competing songs will be revealed alongside them.

The judging panel has finished listening to all the songs and has selected the contestants for the selection process. The names of the judges will only be officially revealed after the conclusion of the national final. Discussions about hosting the national final continue, with names like Helena Paparizou and Sakis Rouvas at the center of these talks. Simultaneously, there’s anticipation for official confirmation of the participation of esteemed director Fokas Evangelinos in the show’s production.

The Greek Eurovision selection will include 12 songs, chosen by a special committee from ERT, out of a total of 187 songs from various genres submitted to the selection process. The voting format in the selection will include a combination of Greek judges and international professional judges, aiming to create a balanced result and representation of experts from around the world. Each group of judges will determine 25% of the final result, while public voting will determine the remaining 50%.
