Malta in Eurovision 2025: Miriana Conte won the “MESC 2025” and will perform the song “Kant” on the Eurovision 2025 stage. Listen to the song.

Kant” (translated as: “Singing”) is the name of the song that will be performed by Miriana Conte, who will represent Malta at Eurovision 2025 to be held in Basel, Switzerland. The song was written by the singer herself along with Benjamin Schmid, who has written many songs for Malta’s Eurovision National Selections in past years, wrote two songs for Miriana for the Maltese National Selections in 2022 and 2024, and also wrote the winning Maltese song for the Junior Eurovision 2015, “Not My Soul,” performed by Destiny who also represented Malta in Eurovision 2021.

Another partner in writing the song is Matthew Mercieca, who has also written many songs for Malta’s Eurovision National Selections in past years. Another writer of the song is Sarah Evelyn Fullerton, who was involved in writing three songs for the current Maltese National Selection. This is the first song by the writers in the Eurovision competition. The song is performed in English. The singer will compete in the second semi-final of Eurovision, which will be held on May 15.

Miriana ascended to the Eurovision National Selection stage dressed in a long dress that quickly changed to a black lace bodysuit, made up with dramatic makeup in black and pink, accompanied by a team of dancers dressed in matching suits. The singer sang and danced alongside the dancers throughout the song. The atmosphere during the song was very energetic and special. The song describes an experience of freedom of expression and breaking through social constraints, while calling to adopt an independent and confident stance.

At the beginning of the song, the narrative character invites the listener to reveal a secret to him. It is an invitation for intimate closeness and to listen to something that might be perceived as provocative or different from the norm. The song continues to describe an environment where people are required to keep quiet and not stand out. The chorus translates this opposition into a call to action and a demand to be heard. The song also radiates an energy of independence and feminine power. It is a declaration of the character’s power to change the reality around her and influence it positively. All this while calling for others to tear down their walls and dance to the vibe she creates. The song ends with a repeat of the call for freedom of expression and to live according to one’s own terms.

The singer won the Maltese Eurovision National Selection held tonight (Saturday) and competed against 15 other contestants, where Miriana reached first place in the public vote at home, and second place in the jury vote.

During the evening, singer Maxine, who participated in the Maltese Eurovision National Selection in 2016, 2017, and 2023, performed. Ramires Sciberras, Malta’s representative at the Junior Eurovision 2024, performed his song “Stilla ċkejkna” (“Little Star”) along with Sarah Bonnici, Malta’s representative in Eurovision 2024, who also performed the song “Loop” (“Loop”). Lyrics – “Kant”:

I’ve got a secret you should know
Come a little close, I’ll whisper slow
I’ve got a secret you should know
(Shhh shhh shhh shhh)

People say don’t be so loud
Watch the words coming out your mouth
Hands crossed don’t dare stand out
(Follow the crowd – follow the crowd)

Pull up pull up make all em bow down
Shut up shut up I’ma be real loud
Get up get up I don’t back down
(Follow me now – follow me now)

Only lovers no enemies
Feel it round me queen energy
In my power a higher me
Here’s the secret remedy

Why should we let other people decide
When we could be having the time of our lives
Let down your walls, come and dance to my vibe
I do it all the time
Yeah, I do it all the time

Serving kant
Do-re-mi-fa-s-s-serving kant
Do-re-mi-fa-s-s-serving

They say no, do the opposite
That’s it
Give up, give up, this girl don’t quit
Follow me now

Only lovers no enemies
Feel it round me queen energy
Here’s our secret remedy

Why should we let other people decide
When we could be having the time of our lives
Let down your walls, come and dance to my vibe
I do it all the time
Yeah, I do it all the time
Yeah, I do it all the time

Serving kant
Do-re-mi-fa-s-s-serving kant
Do-re-mi-fa-s-s-serving

I’ve got a secret you should know
Do-re-mi-fa-so
I’ve got a secret you should know
Do-re-mi-fa-so

Why should we let other people decide
When we could be having the time of our lives
Let down your walls, come and dance to my vibe
I do it all the time
Yeah, I do it all the time

Serving kant
(I’m serving)
Do-re-mi-fa-s-s-serving kant
(I’m serving)
Do-re-mi-fa-s-s-serving

I’ve got а secret you ѕhould know
