As we reported last week, our friends at the Greek website “Eurovisionfun” revealed the list of final contenders to represent the country in the European contest. The list included six prominent and well-known names from the local and international music industries: Josephine, Anastasios Rammos, Charis Savva, Evangelia, Katerina Stikoudi, and Giorgios Perris – the selected artist to represent Cyprus in the contest.

Each candidate has their own track record. Savva represented Cyprus at Junior Eurovision, while Evangelia is well known to Eurovision fans following her numerous attempts to enter the Greek and Cypriot selection processes over the past decade. It is worth recalling that Josephine and Perris were also considered strong contenders to represent Cyprus at Eurovision last year, but Antigoni was ultimately announced as the country’s representative in a surprise decision.

Giorgios Perris – Who are you?

George Perris is a prominent international singer, songwriter, and performer of Greek-French descent. Born in Athens in 1983 to a Greek father and a French mother, Perris was raised immersed in both cultures—an element clearly reflected in his multilingual repertoire, which includes songs in Greek, French, English, and Spanish.

His musical style features a dramatic and emotional crossover pop sound, backed by an impressive tenor vocal range and powerful cinematic qualities. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with international music giants such as Lara Fabian, Mario Frangoulis, and Michel Legrand, and performed on prestigious stages worldwide, including Lincoln Center in New York and the Zenith in Paris. His Mediterranean roots, combined with the elegant European character of his artistry, make him one of the most unique and prominent voices in the adult contemporary and classical-crossover scene of recent decades.
