Members of the Euromix editorial team convened to vote for the competing songs in Pesma Za Evroviziju 2025. Who should represent Serbia at Eurovision 2025 according to the editorial team?
The Serbian Eurovision national selection, “Pesma za Evroviziju 2025”, is set to take place tonight at 21:00, featuring 16 contestants. The winner of this local competition will represent Serbia at Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. In anticipation of this event, Euromix editorial team members gathered to listen to the participating songs and select their favorites from the Serbia national selection.
Editorial Picks: Who Should Represent Serbia?
Avi Zaikaner: First Place – Princ – “Mila”
Princ is the only one bringing a Balkan ballad to the Serbian Eurovision pre-selection stage, an emotional and well-crafted piece in which he showcases his vocal abilities combined with a captivating musical arrangement that could easily bring Serbia to the top 10. Among the mix of pop and EDM songs chosen so far to compete in Eurovision, such a sweeping ballad will stand out significantly and captivate the entire Balkan region along with judges from across Europe.
Ofek Jerassi: First Place – Princ – “Mila”
Serbia, one of my favorite countries in Eurovision, with its magnificent musical culture and emphasis on authenticity, continues to not disappoint me this year. From the first listening of the songs, it seemed that the level of the national selection was lower this year, and indeed it is, but alongside the decline in quality, I found several very fun “diamonds” to listen to. One of these songs is Princ’s entry, a Balkan ballad crafted to perfection, and absolutely one of the best songs released this season!
Aviad Berger: First Place – Lensy – “Hvala Ti”
I don’t have much to say about the Serbian national selection, I’ll just say that for every song I heard I said “wow this is the worst,” and then an even worse song came along. I chose Lensy because in my opinion it’s the most normal song there, but I wasn’t excited about any song.
Tal Dahan: First Place – Mimi Mercedez – “Turbo Zurka”
In my opinion, the Serbian Eurovision national selection is at a lower level than in previous years, but there are still several very likable songs. After much deliberation, I chose Mimi Mercedez‘s song. True, the lyrics weren’t written by Bialik or even Keren Peles, but as silly as the lyrics are, that’s what makes the song so catchy and infectious! I can already imagine the song playing at every possible Eurovision party in Basel and I’m totally for the idea. I’d be happy with a slightly more energetic dance break (but there’s still time to work on that until May). I’m afraid Serbia isn’t expected to place particularly high this year (no matter which song they send), so at least let there be some fun! I’ll also give credit to Bojana x David who again brought a great song, but need to improve their performance, costumes, and movements.
Ronnie Glik: First Place – Vukayla – “Mask”
For first place, I chose the amazing Vukayla, who moved me incredibly in the live performance. She sounds amazing, performs amazingly, her performance really touched my heart and such things are missing in the current competition. She very much reminds me of Zorja from last year in vocals and stage presence, something Serbia needs to send especially in such a loud year. At the same level, I also loved Mimi Mercedez, who with a completely different performance and improved energy could also bring Serbia a perfect result.
Guy Solo: First Place – Vukayla – “Mask”
I find this year’s national selection in Serbia disappointing. While there are some decent songs, I don’t think any of them are likely to bring Serbia to the grand final in Basel. However, one entry managed to capture both my heart and ears: Vukayla with the song “Mask”. This dark and rhythmic pop song with a catchy chorus and interesting stage performance is the only entry that I believe could potentially bring a not-too-disappointing result for Serbia.”Mask” delves into the internal struggle of the character during an identity crisis and dealing with mental instability. It portrays the breakdown of the mask covering the true self, revealing the difficult and genuine emotions experienced. I can’t help but exclaim, “Serbia, please bring back Sanja Vučić!”
Maayan Eli: First Place – Mimi Mercedez – “Turbo Zurka”
“Turbo Zurka” as an exceptionally successful hybrid creation. I find the song easy to get hooked on, hum along to, and join in the chorus after just one listen. I can imagine a powerful performance, and without doubt, Mimi Mercedez would stand out at Eurovision. It slightly reminds me of “Russian Woman” by Manizha from Eurovision 2021, which I loved.

Eurovision 2025: This will be Serbia’s 17th participation in Eurovision. Serbia joined the contest in 2007 and achieved its best result in the same year when singer Marija Šerifović won first place with the song “Molitva”.
