As is tradition, this year too the international Eurovision countdown “ESC TOP 250” was held. For the third time in a row – Loreen remains at the top of the table. Which song of Loreen won? What position did they reach? All the details – Right here.

What is the best Eurovision song of all time? Each year, toward the end of the calendar year, Eurovision fans around the world rank their favorite songs from all time in the Eurovision Song Contest for a countdown called “ESC Top 250”. The countdown is organized by the Belgian Eurovision site Songfestival.be in cooperation with the radio station EFR12Radio, which streams Eurovision songs online. The countdown began in 2007, and what has stood out over the years is the singer Loreen, the 2012 Eurovision winner, who since her victory has topped the chart every year with the song “Euphoria” with the exception of 2022, when another song won the countdown, “SloMo” by Chanel from Spain, which finished in third place that year. And in 2023, when Käärijä captured first place with “Cha Cha Cha”.

Surprising Data in the List

After many long hours of a thrilling, intriguing, enjoyable and above all surprising countdown, some particularly interesting data has been revealed. The biggest climb in the Top was recorded by none other than Israel, with an improvement of no less than 1,406 places! The song that achieved this feat is “Yavo Yom” by Moti Giladi and Sarai Tzuriel, who represented Israel in Eurovision 1986. “Yavo Yom” registered the biggest rise among songs that finished outside the Top 250 in 2024, but the biggest climb for a song that was already in the Top 250 last year belongs to “Kruna”, which represented Serbia in 2019, over the past year, the song climbed no fewer than 108 places! After talking about the biggest improvements, which song crashed in the most painful way? The song that suffered the hardest fall is Spain’s 2019 entry, “Dancing In The Rain” — it dropped no less than 155 places!

After discussing the biggest drops and improvements, we can move on to the largest number of songs that entered the chart from each year and each country. The most prominent year is, of course, 2025, the freshest year that everyone still remembers, with 23 songs. In second place there is a tie of 19 songs between 2022 and 2024, in third place is 2023 with 15 songs, and in fourth place are 2021 and 2019, tied with 11 songs each.

This year there is an enormous and truly abnormal gap in the number of songs contributed by each country. While last year Sweden led the chart by only 2 songs more than Italy, this year it is ahead by no fewer than 14 songs! In first place, of course, is Sweden with no less than 27 songs, in second place is Italy with 13 songs, third is Spain with 11 songs, and in a tie for fourth place are Ukraine and Norway, each with 9 songs.
