Klavdia, Greece’s Eurovision 2025 representative, discusses her sense of mission toward her country in the competition.
In a interview, Klavdia, Greece’s representative for Eurovision 2025, describes her sense of mission toward her country in the Basel competition. She describes a sense of shock and pressure, and says she took her country’s representation in the contest seriously. Unlike her predecessor, she understood the weight on her shoulders and strived to take the contest slogan “United by Music” seriously.
All of Greece on Her Shoulders

Klavdia has been one of Greece’s most honored representatives in recent years, finishing sixth, but at first she considered herself and “Ethnikos Telikos” as a platform:
“I came to “Ethnikos Telikos” with the desire to become famous. I wasn’t sure I would win, and I prepared myself for the possibility that it wouldn’t happen”.
When she won “Ethnikos Telikos”, she entered a state of shock:
“I sat in my room for two days trying to understand – what’s next”.
Ultimately she prepared for the main contest seriously, and the public’s reactions to her song were the main thing that reassured her:
“People said the song was so Greek, to the point that it made them feel proud, and that was the most important thing for me”.
When she reached the semi-finals, she described the moment of the entry into the finals as emotionally draining. She claims there she felt the weight of the entire country on her shoulders, and her journey which began as personal ended up as a national quest.
In an earlier interview, the singer did not hide that the atmosphere was particularly tense. Political developments and the war affected the contest and created a sense of discomfort among participants. As she explained, every move could be interpreted incorrectly, and the artists found themselves walking a tightrope. Unlike some contestants who chose to take a public political stance, Klavdia explained that she preferred to avoid it.
“Many contestants chose to take a political stance. I wanted this to remain a celebration of music, and I tried to defend that, although there will always be reactions. There is never a perfect scenario. I chose to be polite and equally friendly toward everyone”.
This choice, she says, was not easy, but she believed that maintaining neutrality and mutual respect was the right way to handle such a charged situation
Greece at Eurovision 2025
“Asteromáta” (in English: “Eyes of Stars”) is the song performed by Klavdia, who represented Greece in the grand final of Eurovision 2025. Greece qualified to the grand final after finishing fourth in the second semi-final, with 112 points. In the grand final, Greece finished sixth in the grand final with 231 points, finishing eighth in both jury’s & public’s votes.
The sixth place that Greece achieved is considered the country’s best result since 2013 — when it ranked sixth as well.
Eurovision 2026: This will be Greece’s 46th participation in Eurovision. Greece joined the competition in 1974 and achieved its best result in Eurovision 2005 when singer Helena Paparizou won first place with the song “My Number One”.
