Croatia’s Second Rehearsal: More Details
From the beginning of the video, it is clear that the Croatian production has shifted direction from the performance at Dora – in several ways. LELEK are dressed in their signature cloaks, incorporating a deep and mesmerizing blood-red shade into their outfits. This is a chilling and stylistically brilliant visual choice that perfectly complements the high tension and emotional power inherent in the song “Andromeda”.
Based on the footage, it appears Croatia is opting for “hardcore” mystical elements, with dark and earthy tones dominating the palette alongside significant use of pyrotechnics. Toward the end of the song, the singer in the white cloak is seen running down the catwalk just before the video cuts off. The intensity is not limited to the runway; the massive LED screens behind them play a critical role in the tale they are weaving on stage.
The lighting and video art take the viewer on a rapid journey from a mysterious mystical cave to an enchanted forest. The performance reaches its absolute climax at the end, as the screens draw the audience in through a “wormhole” – a sort of supernova intended to suck the crowd into the performance. Throughout the video, fire jets accompanied the performance, along with rows of shaking and flickering lamps. The Croatian national broadcaster, HRT, seems to be sparing no expense to ensure “Andromeda” leaves a lasting impression on the global audience.
Croatia at Eurovision 2026
“Andromeda” is the song that will be performed by the band LELEK, which will represent Croatia as song number 3 in the first semi-final on May 12th, in Vienna, Austria. The song was written by Tomislav Roso, with music by Filip Lacković, Lazar Pajić, and Zorja Pajić. This is the creators’ first song in the competition. The song will be performed entirely in Croatian.
Currently, Croatia is ranked 16th on the betting odds ahead of Eurovision 2026.
Eurovision 2026: This will be Croatia’s 31st participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. Croatia joined the competition in 1993 and achieved its best result in Eurovision 2024 by finishing in second place with the song “Rim Tim Tagi Dim” performed by the singer Baby Lasagna.
