Switzerland’s Eurovision 2026 representative, Veronica Fusaro, held her second rehearsal in Vienna with the song “Alice”. Stay tuned for all updates from Austria.
Following the controversy surrounding live instrumentation – in which Switzerland was denied the opportunity to play the electric guitar live – Veronica Fusaro took to the Eurovision 2026 stage in Vienna, Austria. The rehearsal provided a striking glimpse into her performance of “Alice” . Featuring an electric guitar that underscores exactly why the national broadcaster, SRG SSR, was vocal about the live-playing ban, the rehearsal raises the question: Is Switzerland bringing winner-level material after this disappointment with the EBU?

The Red Rope Cage
In the beginning of the released footage, the camera focuses on the singer as she stands inside a cage-like structure made of red ropes, designed to resemble prison bars. While inside, she moves between the poles supporting the cage, where two of her four backing dancers are positioned. As the performance progresses, she exits the cage to stand at the front of the stage.
The remaining two dancers run toward her from opposite sides; one holds the microphone to her mouth while the other brings her the guitar used for the song’s closing solo. During the solo finale, the artist attempts to distance herself from the cage and advance toward the catwalk, though she remains tethered to the structure by several wires attached to her back. The LED screens in the background and on the stage floor are filled with red lightning effects, complemented by green smoke on the floor.
The artist appears in a black suit featuring a coat adorned with rhinestones and feather decorations on the shoulders, while her dancers wear metallic black bodysuits. Throughout the segment, she demonstrates strong vocal capabilities despite the refusal to allow her to play the electric guitar live. It is evident that notwithstanding this restriction, she is delivering a soulful performance.
Towards the Semi-Final
As she concludes her second rehearsal, Fusaro is now focusing on polishing the performance for her appearance as song number 7 in the second semi-final. Will Switzerland’s unique staging be enough to secure a place in the Grand Final?
