The Greek national broadcaster, ERT, has confirmed its participation in Eurovision 2025 to be held in Basel, Switzerland. Greece becomes the 29th country so far to express interest in participating in the upcoming Eurovision, joining Austria, Azerbaijan, Italy, Belgium, United Kingdom, Georgia, Germany, Denmark, Israel, Luxembourg, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Malta, Norway, San Marino, Spain, Serbia, Portugal, Finland, Czech Republic, France, Cyprus, Croatia, Sweden, Ukraine and host country Switzerland.
ERT has not yet revealed information about the country’s selection process for the next Eurovision due to ongoing administrative changes at the broadcaster, which are expected to be completed during the current week. Greece typically selects its representatives through an internal selection process – without a national final – choosing a song and artist directly by the television network. However, reports in Greece suggest that the broadcaster may hold a national final to select the representative and song for the first time since 2017.
ERT emphasizes that the selection process will aim to maintain high viewer interest in Eurovision while ensuring a transparent and objective procedure to avoid issues that have occurred in the past.
The official list of countries competing in Eurovision 2025 is expected to be revealed in October.

Greece qualified for the final after placing fifth in the second semi-final with 86 points, and in the grand final, they finished in 11th place with 126 points.
Eurovision 2025: This will mark Greece’s 45th participation in Eurovision. Greece joined the competition in 1974 and achieved its best result in Eurovision 2005 when singer Helena Paparizou won first place with the song “My Number One”.
