After ERT announced Greece’s first open national selection in 22 years, the question arose: who will raise the Greek flag in Basel? Which artists have shown interest in competing? A brief overview.

The Greek broadcaster ERT held a press conference last Wednesday, announcing an open national final for Eurovision for the first time in 22 years. The song submission window will be open to any artist wishing to represent Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel. This exciting announcement comes after the Greek public demanded involvement in choosing the representative and song for Eurovision, following criticism of ERT’s selections in recent years.
