The Eurovision 2025 season is approaching, and with it the main question: which artists will we see representing their country in the competition? In our series of articles, we will introduce you to several well-known artists from each country, whom we believe are worthy of representing their country and whom we would like to see on the Eurovision stage in Switzerland.
Each article will focus on four different countries and several artists from each country, so through these articles you can get to know many new artists, and perhaps we will even see some of them in future competitions! So who are the artists that could bring the best result for Malta, Italy, San Marino & Iceland?
Who should represent Malta?
The Maltese Broadcaster, PBS, confirms its participation in Eurovision 2025. The Maltese representative for Eurovision 2025 will be chosen through the Maltese pre-Eurovision contest “MESC 2025”. So who should proudly represent Malta?
Aidan: a 24-year-old pop singer born in Zejtun, Malta. He began his musical career in 2018 when he participated in the Maltese pre-Eurovision contest “Malta Eurovision Song Contest” or “MESC” with the song “Dai Laga“, finishing fourth. That same year, he also participated in the “X Factor Malta” program. In 2019, he represented Malta in the Eurovision fan contest “OGAE Song Contest.” In 2021, he released his first song in Maltese, “Naħseb Fik“, and from then on adopted singing in the local language. In 2022, he participated again in the Maltese pre-Eurovision contest with the song “Ritmu” and finished second. That same year, he read out the jury voting results for Malta in the competition final. In 2023, he competed again in the pre-Eurovision contest with the song “Reġina,” but his song was disqualified due to early releases on the singer’s media accounts, which did not comply with the competition rules. Aidan is a talented, charismatic singer who knows how to perform perfectly and could easily bring Malta an excellent result.
Nathan Psalia: a 19-year-old singer and songwriter of Maltese origin, known for his participation in the Maltese pre-Eurovision contest “MESC.” He first participated in the pre-selection in 2023 with the song “Creeping Walls” and finished 11th. In 2024, he participated again with the song “Ghost” and finished 10th. Nathan is a talented artist, especially in the ballad style, but he can bring Malta an excellent result and move the audience.
Stefan Galea: a 28-year-old Maltese singer, mainly known for his participation in the Maltese pre-Eurovision contest “MESC.” In 2009, he participated in the local children’s pre-Eurovision contest with the song “Shake Up Wake Up” and advanced to the final. He first participated in the Eurovision pre-selection in 2016 with the song “Light Up My Life” but did not advance to the final. In 2023, he participated again with the song “Heartbreaker” and finished 16th in the final. In 2024, he participated once more with the song “Numb” but did not advance to the final. Stefan is a highly charismatic and talented artist who could bring Malta an excellent result.
Who should represent Italy?
The Italian Broadcaster RAI has confirmed that Italy will compete in Eurovision 2025 and that the artist who wins the Sanremo Festival will serve as Italy’s representative for the Eurovision competition. The festival will take place from February 11-15, and 24 artists will compete in total in the 75th edition of the festival. The list of artists is expected to be published in December. So who should represent Italy?
Olly: a 23-year-old rapper and singer born in Liguria, Italy. He began his musical career in 2016, working on his first EP “Piacere Mixtape.” After two years of activity, he moved to live in Britain, and in 2018 released his second EP “CRY4U.” He released his first album “Io Sono” in 2020. In 2021, the singer released a cover of the song “La Notte” by the famous Italian singer Arisa, which gained a lot of traction and was eventually released as a separate single in collaboration with the singer herself. In 2022, Olly participated in the “Sanremo Giovani” competition and finished among the top six, which led him to participate in the Italian pre-Eurovision “Sanremo” in 2023. He competed with the song “Polvere” (highly recommended to listen to!) and finished 24th in the pre-selection. Recently, the singer released the song “Per due come noi” in collaboration with Italy’s Eurovision 2024 representative Angelina Mango. Olly is a talented artist with a noticeable presence and a cheerful demeanor that will bring an excellent result for Italy in the competition. According to rumors, Olly is on the list of artists expected to take part in the “Sanremo” 2025 festival.
Ill Tre: a 27-year-old rapper, singer, and songwriter born in Marino, Italy. He began his musical career in 2015, where he started working on new songs, and in 2016 released the first part of his rap song series “Cracovia.” In 2018, he released the second part in his series, “Cracovia Vol. 2,” and over the years, the third and fourth parts were also released. In 2021, the singer released his first album “Ali,” which topped the album charts across Italy. In 2024, he competed in the Italian pre-Eurovision, the “Sanremo” festival, with the song “Fragili” and finished 12th out of 30 contestants in the pre-selection. Il Tre is a very successful rapper who deserves to represent Italy and bring great honor to the country!
Leon Faun: a 23-year-old rapper, actor, and singer born in Italy. He began his musical career in 2016, when he started writing and producing songs together with his childhood friend Duffy, who accompanied him throughout the project. In 2017, he released his first EP under a pseudonym while preferring to focus on acting in films. In 2018, he released his first single under his name, “Horia.” In 2020, the singer released his first album “C’era una volta,” which quickly reached fifth place in the charts. In 2024, he released his second album “LEON.” Leon is a highly successful rapper with great charisma influenced by his acting background, and he could bring an excellent result for Italy!
Irama: a 28-year-old rapper and singer born in Tuscany, Italy. He began his music career in 2015, releasing his first song “Cosa resterà” which he used to compete in the “Sanremo Giovani” contest. The singer finished among the top 8 in the competition and earned the right to compete in the Italian Eurovision pre-selection festival “Sanremo”. At the same time, the singer released his first album “Irama”.At the end of 2016, the singer competed in the talent show “Amici di Maria De Filippi” and won first place. In 2018, he released his second album “Giovani”. In 2019, he competed again in the Italian Eurovision pre-selection with the song “La ragazza con il cuore di latta” and reached seventh place. In 2021, he returned to the Eurovision pre-selection with the song “La genesi del tuo colore“, but due to one of his team members testing positive for the coronavirus, the singer had to isolate and couldn’t perform his song live. The festival production allowed him to use his rehearsal recording as his performance in the pre-selection, and despite everything, he won the audience’s hearts and reached fifth place.Since then, he has competed in the pre-selection twice more and finished in the top five both times. He released his newest song “Galassie” a few months ago. Irama is a successful singer who has experienced many trials in his life, and who knows, maybe 2025 will be his lucky year? According to rumors, Irama is on the list of artists expected to take part in the “San Remo” festival 2025.
Who should represent San Marino?
San Marino has confirmed its participation in Eurovision 2025, announcing that their representative will be chosen for the fourth consecutive time through the national selection “Una Voce per San Marino”. The final, where the representative and song for Eurovision will be selected, will take place on February 22nd. who can bring San Marino back to the final?
Rosa Chemical: a 26-year-old rapper, singer, songwriter, and model born in Piedmont, Italy. He began his music career in 2018 with his first song “Kournikova” and started modeling for Gucci that same year. In 2023, he competed in the Italian national selection with the song “Made in Italy“, finishing eighth. Rosa Chemical is known for his strong stage presence and could potentially bring an excellent result for San Marino with a strong song.
La Sad: a band from Milan, Italy, formed in 2020. The band consists of three members: singer and guitarist Theø, singer Plant, and singer Fiks. They are known for their distinctive hair colors – Theø’s green, Plant’s blue, and Fiks’ pink (they even switched hair colors once!).they released their first song “Summersad” in 2020. In 2024, the band participated in the Italian national selection “Sanremo” with the song “Autodistruttivo“, finishing 24th. La Sad is a talented band with a unique style that could bring a lot of color to the competition and potentially a great result for San Marino.
Who should represent Iceland?
Iceland has also confirmed its participation in Eurovision 2025, likely to choose its representative through its traditional national selection. who should represent iceland?
Thornsteinn Einarsson: Thornsteinn is a 28-year-old musician of Icelandic-Austrian origin born in Reykjavik, Iceland. He began his music career in Austria, gaining recognition in 2014 when he participated in the Austrian talent show “Die große Chance”, finishing fourth. in the same year he released his first song “Leya“. in 2016 he released his first album “1”. Thornsteinn is a talented artist who could worthily represent his home country at Eurovision.
VÆB: VÆB is a duo consisting of brothers Hálfdán Helgi and Matthías Davíð, based in Iceland and creating music in electronic and rap styles. they released their first song “ARON CAN (BORDAR KAL)” in 2022. shortly after they released their first album “VÆB TEKK”. In 2024, the duo participated in the Icelandic national selection “Söngvakeppnin” with the song “Bíómynd“, advancing to the final and finishing fourth. VÆB is a very talented and energetic duo with catchy and original music that hasn’t been seen yet in the Eurovision competition.

Eurovision 2025: The 69th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Basel, Switzerland, on May 13, 15, and 17, 2025. The St. Jakobshalle arena, which will host the competition, is expected to accommodate about 12,000 spectators for each show. The contest will take place in Switzerland following the country’s third historical win with the song “The Code”, performed by singer Nemo. This will be the third time the competition has been hosted in Switzerland, after the contest was held there in 1956 and 1989.
