The submission window for the Greek Eurovision national selection closed yesterday, and now the names of artists who submitted songs for the selection are being revealed. Which artists have submitted songs? And who among them is already familiar to us?
The Greek national broadcaster, ERT, closed the submission window for the Greek Eurovision national selection yesterday. While the exact number of submitted songs is not yet known, estimates suggest between 150 to 200 entries. This is a high number for the first year of a format that hasn’t yet proven itself, especially considering the relatively strict criteria set by the Greek national broadcaster for song submissions.
Notable Participants
Among the song submitters for the Greek national selection are several familiar names:
- Evangelia – A Greek-American singer who has competed to represent Greece at Eurovision in previous years. She hinted at another attempt to represent Greece as early as last August. According to her, the song she submitted for the Greek Eurovision selection is the strongest she has ever submitted to Greece. She worked with the same team as last year’s Greek representative Marina Satti, who, as we remember, brought an ethnic Greek song to Eurovision.
- Archangel – The stage name of Angelos Archaniotakis, a promising up-and-coming Greek singer whom we recommended in our special series of articles about artists we’d like to see at Eurovision 2025. Archangel is known for his theatrical song style and revealed to us that he plans to bring a song in this style to the Eurovision selection.
- Leea Nanos – An Australian singer of Greek descent, who is no stranger to the Eurovision world. She even tried to represent Australia at Eurovision 2019 with her song “Set Me Free,” which reached the final of the national selection but finished ninth out of ten.
