The Ukrainian national broadcaster revealed that singer TESLENKO has withdrawn from the public voting round of the Eurovision selection, leaving only ten contestants vying for the last ticket to the final.

The Ukrainian national broadcaster, Suspilne, unexpectedly revealed today that singer TESLENKO has withdrawn from the Eurovision selection process. TESLENKO was one of the artists who did not directly qualify for the final and was supposed to compete in the public voting stage to determine who would secure the last ticket to the Eurovision selection final.

TESLENKO’s withdrawal came after it was revealed that singer Enleo, who is also competing in the public voting round, listens to Russian songs. This revelation caused anger among TESLENKO and his team, who apparently advocate for a complete boycott of Russia. As a result, they decided not to compete in the Eurovision selection. TESLENKO’s management responded: “We cannot participate in a competition alongside someone for whom Ukrainian music is an embarrassment and a failure.” The withdrawal means that only ten contestants remain in the public voting round, competing for the last spot in the final:

  • Brykulets
  • Enleo
  • Fiïnka
  • Grisana
  • Mon fia
  • Ranwari
  • Starykova Hrystina
  • Yagody
  • Muyad
  • Sluhai Sashu

Ukraine in Eurovision 2024

Jerry Heil and Alyona Alyona represented Ukraine at Eurovision 2024 with the song “Teresa & Maria.” The duo won the Ukrainian national selection “Vidbir 2024” and finished third in the Eurovision final with 453 points.

Their entry is notable for being the first since 2002 to place in the top 5 while performing second in the running order, a position traditionally considered challenging in Eurovision statistics.
