Notable Contestants

Among the contestants, there are some familiar names:

  • Evangelia – A Greek-American singer who has competed to represent Greece at Eurovision in previous years. She hinted at another attempt to represent Greece as early as last August. According to her, the song she submitted for the Greek national selection is the strongest she has ever submitted to Greece. She worked with the same team as last year’s Greek representative Marina Satti, who, as we remember, brought an ethnic Greek song to Eurovision.
  • Xannova Xan – Participated and represented Greece in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 together with Alexandros Chountas. They reached 6th place with the song “Tora einai i seira mas”.

The judging panel has finished listening to all the songs and has selected the contestants for the selection process. The names of the judges will only be officially revealed after the conclusion of the national final. Discussions about hosting the national final continue, with names like Helena Paparizou and Sakis Rouvas at the center of these talks. Simultaneously, there’s anticipation for official confirmation of the participation of esteemed director Fokas Evangelinos in the show’s production.

The Greek Eurovision selection will include 12 songs, chosen by a special committee from ERT, out of a total of 187 songs from various genres submitted to the selection process. The voting format in the selection will include a combination of Greek judges and international professional judges, aiming to create a balanced result and representation of experts from around the world. Each group of judges will determine 25% of the final result, while public voting will determine the remaining 50%.

The Eurovision national final will take place on January 30 in a live broadcast, and the Greek representative for Eurovision 2025 will be chosen with the help of judges (international and Greek) and the public in a 50%-50% ratio.
