San Marino’s national broadcaster, SMRTV, announced a new daily program that will air the national final’s auditions and semi-finals starting from January 20th.
San Marino’s national broadcaster, SMRTV, is in the midst of auditions for their Eurovision 2025 selection process, now renamed “San Marino Song Contest”. The contest will determine the country’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. SMRTV has announced that starting January 20th at 16:00 (CET), a daily program dedicated to the ongoing auditions and semi-finals will be broadcast, titled “Salotto – Una Voce per San Marino”.
The national selection, newly named “San Marino Song Contest,” is scheduled to take place on March 8th. Over 200 contestants have already submitted entries, with 80 artists set to advance to the semi-final stages. The selection process includes an initial registration and “casting” phase, followed by four regular semi-finals, an additional semi-final for local artists, and a “second chance” semi-final.
It’s worth noting that one contestant has already secured a direct entry to the first semi-final of the San Marino Song Contest. Justine Mayer from France won this opportunity after claiming victory in the “Tour Music Fest” music competition held in San Marino on Sunday, December 1, 2024. As part of her prize, Mayer was guaranteed a spot in the first semi-final, bypassing the audition stage.
Registration for the competition is open and applications can be submitted at: unavocepersanmarino.com. The competition rules can be found at the following link.
The local contest aims to incorporate the participation of new and established artists from around the world, to allow for musical diversity and quality along with the ability of the ‘San Marino Song Contest’ to serve as a springboard in the international music industry. San Marino has used the local competition as its selection process for Eurovision representatives since 2022 and has so far failed to qualify for the final.
