Chanel, Spain’s Eurovision 2022 representative who achieved third place with “SloMo,” will announce Spain’s jury votes during the Eurovision 2025 Grand Final.

The Spanish national broadcaster, RTVE, has revealed that Chanel, Spain’s representative at Eurovision 2022 with the song “SloMo,” will announce the Spanish jury votes during the Eurovision 2025 Grand Final. Chanel, who secured third place in 2022 and became one of the most iconic artists associated with the contest, is set to bring her charisma back to the Eurovision stage.

Chanel is not just another Eurovision artist; she made history for Spain by achieving third place in the Grand Final of Eurovision 2022 with an impressive 459 points. This marked Spain’s best result since 1995. Her selection as the Spanish spokesperson for Eurovision 2025 is particularly exciting for fans.

In the coming weeks, additional national broadcasters are expected to reveal their spokespersons for Eurovision 2025.

What Are Eurovision Spokespersons?

Eurovision voting is split evenly between national juries (50%) and public voting (50%). The jury votes from each country are displayed on-screen during the Grand Final, with a selected spokesperson announcing their country’s top score (12 points). National broadcasters often choose comedians, former Eurovision participants, TV presenters, or even representatives from Junior Eurovision to fulfill this role.

Spain in Eurovision 2025

“Esa Diva” is the title of the song that will be performed by singer Melody, representing Spain at Eurovision 2025, to be held in Basel, Switzerland, with the grand final on May 17. The song was written by Alberto Fuentes Lorite and Melodia Ruiz Gutiérrez and is performed entirely in Spanish.

The song redefines the concept of a “diva”. It describes a true diva as a simple, brave, and strong woman who doesn’t step on others to succeed. The song emphasizes that a diva is not defined by fame or wealth, but by her inner strength, freedom of expression, and ability to overcome challenges.

Spain is currently in 28th place in the betting odds for Eurovision 2025.

Eurovision 2025: This will be Spain’s 65th participation in Eurovision. Spain joined the competition in 1961 and won it twice consecutively in 1968 and 1969. Spain has hosted the contest on its territory only once in 1969 and since then holds the longest waiting time since its last victory – 55 years.
