Tautumeitas, who will represent Latvia in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2025 on May 15 in Basel, Switzerland, have revealed a major shift in their performance concept for the competition.
The Latvian band, which won the Latvian national selection after a three-way tie and a tiebreaker, announced that they will revamp their stage concept for Eurovision 2025. This move is likely aimed at impressing the Eurovision audience and raising the bar compared to their national selection performance.
The group has also hinted at changes to their signature nymph-inspired costumes, which are expected to evolve for their Eurovision appearance. Currently on a European tour, the band members are scheduled to attend Eurovision pre-parties in London and Madrid, where they will promote their song “Bur Man Laimi.”
Latvia in Eurovision 2025
“Bur Man Laimi” is the title of the song that will be performed by band Tautumeitas, who will represent Latvia in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2025, taking place on May 15th in Basel, Switzerland. The song was written and composed by Asnate Rancāne, Aurēlija Rancāne, Elvis Lintiņš and Laura Līcīte. The song is performed in Latvian, and this is the first song Latvia has sent in its native language since 2004!
“Bur Man Laimi” is a song that blends traditional Latvian folk melodies with more modern sounds. Tautumeitas sing about curses and exes that cannot destroy them. They typically wear headdresses and crowns in all their performances, and here too they have a “crown” decoration on their heads, which is more reminiscent of nymphs and complements their flowing flesh-toned outfits. In the performance itself, they enter and exit through a curtain of strings.
Latvia is currently in the 34th place in the betting odds table.
