Live broadcast chaos: Why did three police officers arrive at Australia’s Eurovision 2025 contestant’s room? All the details from a dramatic night in an Estonian hotel room!

In the midst of the intense days leading up to the Eurovision 2025 semi-finals, an unexpected event stirred the online fan community. Australia’s representative, Go Jo, set to perform “Milkshake Man”, as the opening act of the second semi-final on May 15th – found himself in an unusual encounter with local Estonian police, all while live-streaming on Instagram.

Police Intervention During a Live Stream

The incident unfolded during a live broadcast featuring Go Jo alongside Kyle Alessandro, Sissal, and Klavdia. The four were chatting and joking on social media when suddenly loud knocks were heard at the hotel room door where the Australian contestant was staying.

On the other side of the door stood three armed Estonian police officers who responded to a call about loud noise and shouting from the room. The unexpected arrival prompted the singer to halt the live broadcast, leaving the other participants online to speculate about what had happened.

Go Jo’s Response: “I Was Just Rehearsing for Eurovision”

To reassure his followers, Go Jo posted another Instagram story, explaining the situation in detail:

“Everyone messaged me about my last story. I’m totally fine. I was just live with Sissal, Kyle, and Klavdia, and suddenly there was knocking at my door, and I was like-what? Who’s knocking on my door at nine in the evening? So I went out and opened the door, and there were three Estonian police officers in bulletproof vests. I looked at them and was like-oh my God, what’s happening now? Then they told me someone was shouting from my room, and I was like-no, I’m just singing because I’m rehearsing for Eurovision. I’m representing Australia at Eurovision this year. I think I spoke too quickly in my Australian English, and I don’t think they understood me very well. But yeah, that was my first experience in Estonia”.

In this story, Go Jo described being startled to find three armed officers at his door late at night. According to him, all he was doing was practicing his singing ahead of his Eurovision semi-final performance, but his fast Australian accent may have made it difficult for the officers to understand him.

A Humorous Ending to a Tense Situation

At the end of the video, aiming to add a humorous twist to the awkward situation, Go Jo played a police siren sound effect and mimicked a frightened expression. Despite the tense moments, the incident ended without harm-both for the singer and the police officers who arrived at the scene.

Despite the unnerving encounter with the Estonian police, it seems that Go Jo continues to win over audiences-sometimes in rather unconventional ways. The Australian contestant, known for his frequent jokes on social media, appears to seize every opportunity to entertain and endear himself to fans-perhaps with the clear goal of earning a few more precious points in the competition. Additionally, he often posts videos and appears in live streams shirtless, highlighting his muscular physique-a move that cannot be ignored and may well be an intentional bid to become one of Eurovision 2025’s sex symbols.

Australia at Eurovision 2025

The song “Milkshake Man” will be performed by Go-Jo, representing Australia as the first entry in the second semi-final on May 15th. The song was co-written by Go-Jo alongside members of the band Sheppard, who previously competed in the 2019 Australian Eurovision national selection. This marks their debut as Eurovision songwriters. The song will be performed in English.

The track introduces a playful and colorful character encouraging people to enjoy life, let loose, and dance. However, it also carries an additional layer of meaning that hints at sexual undertones. The choice of words, imagery, and recurring references to the drink being offered suggest a deeper, less innocent interpretation. Thus, the song blends humor, lightheartedness, and a cheeky allure designed to captivate listeners who grasp its hidden message.
