Vanilla Ninja will release the final rocky version of their Eurovision 2026 entry on April 17th, featuring a new music video.

The Estonian entry for Eurovision 2026, Vanilla Ninja, has announced that the final and improved version of their song, “Too Epic to Be True“, will be revealed tomorrow, April 17th. The announcement noted that the song’s style will be more dynamic and that the group will produce a new music video for the entry. The band also mentioned that the performance in Vienna will be distinctly different from their performance in “Eesti Laul”. The revamped version and music video will be published across all platforms at 23:00 CET.

Revamping the Estonian Entry for Eurovision

The group revealed that “Too Epic to Be True” is expected to undergo changes, and the version set for release at midnight will be the one performed on the Eurovision stage in Austria. The band announced that the song’s style will be more “rocky” and dynamic, accompanied by a specially produced music video. The band, which has previous Eurovision experience representing Switzerland in Eurovision 2005 with the song “Cool Vibes“, returns after 21 years to represent their home country as one of the 35 nations competing this year. They stated they are bringing a high-energy live performance to the Wiener Stadthalle:

“We felt we wanted to head to Eurovision with a more powerful and ‘live’ version of our song. Our goal is to give out absolute best in Vienna, and a rockier sound allows us to better utilize the possibilities of the big stage”.

While revealing new details about the performance in Vienna, Vanilla Ninja has maintained a sense of mystery. The music video they plan to release at midnight will be adapted to the stage conditions expected in Vienna, ensuring the song gains immediate momentum during the live performance.

The song was written by the Estonian composer Sven Lõhmus, who has penned numerous entries representing Estonia in 2005, 2009, 2011 and 2017, as well as the song “Tänavad“, which represented Estonia at Junior Eurovision 2024. The music video is produced by Sander Allikmae, who is also part of the group’s creative team. Joining the band on stage in Vienna will be the drummer Borka and two backing singers, Kaire Vilgats and Dagmar Oja.

The group is expected to perform the revamped version for the first time this coming Sunday, April 19th, at the London Eurovision Party.
