(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Iceland in Eurovision 2025: After the songwriter of the Israeli hit "Hatunat HaShana" appealed to the EBU demanding the song's disqualification from Eurovision 2025, an official investigation has been opened in Iceland surrounding the affair. Following the victory of the Icelandic duo VÆB in the local Eurovision selection with the song "Róa," Iceland has opened an official investigation into the claims raised by composer Offir Cohen, surrounding the suspicion that the duo copied his work "Hatunat HaShana," which became a hit performed by Eyal Golan and Itay Levy about seven years ago. The similarity between the songs is evident not only in the chorus melody, Cohen claimed, but also in the arrangement resembling the Festigal version of "Hatunat HaShana," and in that both songs are performed by male duos. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); According to the publication in "Israel Hayom", Bakel Walden, chairman of the Eurovision Reference Group, stated that the matter is under the responsibility of the Icelandic national broadcaster, and that the...

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Iceland in Eurovision 2025: The head of the Icelandic Eurovision delegation is working on reinstating jury voting in the semi-finals, claiming unfairness in the current 100% audience voting system. Iceland, represented by VÆB with the song "Róa" at Eurovision, is taking the lead in the fight to bring back jury voting to the semi-finals. In an interview, Felix Bergsson, head of the Icelandic Eurovision delegation, confirmed that he is working on this issue. He argued that the audience-only voting system in the semi-finals is unfair and does not provide equal opportunities for all countries. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); According to Bergsson, the main problem with audience voting in the semi-finals is the lack of equal opportunities for each country to reach the final. He claims that countries with large diasporas (expatriate communities) advance to the final more easily (examples include Albania, Poland, and Israel), while smaller countries (like Iceland) without significant expatriate communities miss out on opportunities even when they deserve...
