Montenegro at Eurovision 2025: Nina Žižić will represent Montenegro with her song “Dobrodošli” following the withdrawal of NeonoeN, the winners of the Montenegrin national selection. She will perform “Dobrodošli” on the Eurovision 2025 stage. Listen to the song.

Dobrodošli” (meaning “Welcome”) is the title of the song that will be performed by singer Nina Žižić, who will represent Montenegro at Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. The song was written by Drako Dimitrov, an internationally renowned composer who has penned numerous Eurovision entries. The song is performed in the Montenegrin language.

Žižić secured second place in the national selection with 19 points, ranking fourth in the public vote and first with the international jury panel. The band Baryak won the public vote with their song “Dva Srca“, while the overall winner was NeonoeN, who later withdrew from the competition due to an alleged violation of Eurovision rules.

The performance opens in dimness with Žižić blindfolded, as blue and purple lights illuminate the stage. LED screens behind her display visual interplays of light and darkness, initially featuring flashing stripes and squares that transform into human silhouettes. The performance continues with dynamic camera work at the song’s peak, rotating around Žižić as she begins to move. The song crescendos and the lyrics appear on the LED screens, emphasizing the song’s message.

Dobrodošli” addresses mental resilience and emotional complexity in the face of life’s challenges. It describes a journey through uncertainty and emotional struggles, encouraging listeners to face challenges with courage and hope, understanding that difficulties are temporary. Through poetic imagery, the song focuses on community, love, and shared human fragility, presenting life as a performance where joy and sadness intertwine. The central message emphasizes perseverance and finding solace in connecting with others.

Nina Žižić Who Are You?

Nina Žižić, a 39-year-old Montenegrin singer, began her musical career as a member of the girl group Negre.

She is no stranger to Eurovision, having represented Montenegro alongside the duo Who See at Eurovision 2013 in Malmö, Sweden, with the song “Igranka“. Despite the song’s popularity and fourth-place ranking in public votes, low jury scores prevented it from reaching the final.

Post-Eurovision, Nina has remained a respected figure in the Montenegrin pop scene, continuing to release songs and albums in her unique style.

Montenegrin National Selection Results:

During the final show, several notable Eurovision alumni graced the stage, including Danijel Popović (Yugoslavia, Eurovision 1983), Vladana (Montenegro, Eurovision 2022), Sergej Ćetković (Montenegro, Eurovision 2014), Elena Risteska (North Macedonia, Eurovision 2006), and Emmelie de Forest, winner of Eurovision 2013.

After NeonoeN’s victory, controversy arose when it was revealed that they had performed their winning song “Clickbait” before September 1, 2024, the earliest date allowed for Eurovision song performances. Before the investigation concluded, NeonoeN decided to withdraw from Eurovision, passing Montenegro’s representation to the runner-up, Nina Žižić.

Lyrics of “Dobrodošli”:

Nestaće, prestaće, a kada će
Nestaće, prestaće, a kada će
Dobro došli meni vi
U hotel mojih slabosti
Dobro došli meni svi
Na predstavu o ljubaviHa-a-a
Ha-a-a-a
Ha-vou-a-a
U-u-uIzdrži sve
Nasmij se
Proći će
Houa-a
Izdrži sve
Nasmij se
Nestaće, prestaće, a kada će
(Prestaće, a kada će)
