Poland at Eurovision 2025: Justyna Steczkowska won the Polish national selection and will perform “GAJA” on the Eurovision 2025 stage. Listen to the song.
“GAJA” is the title of the song that will be performed by Justyna Steczkowska, who will represent Poland in the first semi-final of Eurovision 2025, taking place on May 13th in Basel, Switzerland. The song was written and composed by Dominic Buczkowski-Wojtaszek, Emilian Waluchowski, Justyna Steczkowska and Patryk Kumór The song is performed mainly in English and contains parts in Polish.
Some of the song’s creators have previously written for the competition: Dominic Buczkowski-Wojtaszek and Patryk Kumór were among the writers and composers of “Empires” performed by Alicja Szemplińska, which won the Polish national selection in 2020 and was planned to appear at the canceled Eurovision due to COVID-19. Additionally, these creators were responsible for the winner of Junior Eurovision 2019, “Superhero,” performed by Viki Gabor representing Poland. They also achieved second place in Junior Eurovision 2021 with the song “Somebody” performed by Sara James.
Justyna took the stage to perform “GAJA” accompanied by four dancers on heels, a violinist who also joined her in singing, and various pyrotechnics. She danced, played the violin, hung from the ceiling, and primarily delivered a show. There was fire, smoke, play with lighting, and one diva who proved that although 30 years have passed since her last Eurovision attempt, she’s definitely going to dominate the stage.
The lyrics of “GAJA” deal with power, creation, love, and time, using the figure of Gaia, a personification of Earth in ancient cultures, primarily known from Greek mythology. Gaia is presented in the song as a supreme force, a divine entity connected to all life and time in the universe. The song describes Gaia as a person feeling betrayed and directing her emotions towards the world – that the world itself can “sink” in her tears.

Last year, Poland chose its representative through an internal selection, but this year it was decided to select through the national Eurovision selection “Polskich Kwalifikacji 2025”. The results were determined solely by public voting (100%). The selection show was hosted by Artur Orzech, and the program opened with a guest performance by Baby Lasagna, Croatia’s Eurovision 2024 representative with the song “Rim Tim Tagi Dim“, who later performed again with different songs. Before the voting closed, Poland’s Eurovision 2016 representative Michał Szpak performed.
Lyrics of “GAJA”
(They call me Gaja)
Ranisz moje serce Ty
Który moją miłość masz za nic
Naznaczyłeś sobą mnie
Obudziłeś samotności krzyk
Moje imię Gaja
Jestem bogiem
Siłą
Moją matką miłość
Kiedy płaczę
To we łzach tonie świat
Tulę w swych ramionach zaginiony czas
Gaja…
Ja Gaja…
Czas
Ja Gaja…
Jestem stwórcą twego ja
Duszy zgubą
Twoim ocaleniem
W krwioobiegu płynie czas
Święta woda zmywa przeznaczenie
They call me Gaia
I’m the love
I’m the life of all imagined
The world drowns as it watches me cry
I’ll be holding it close in my arms
Moje imię Gaja
Time
Czas
Zargo
Raga
Urra
Gara
Jarga
Jarun
Era
Czarodoro
Czaѕ
Moje imię Gajа
