During the last season of “HaKokhav HaBa”, she performed “Mon Amour,” a song performed by Sliman at Eurovision 2024, in French and showcased impressive fluency.

As revealed, this year’s Eurovision song will include sections addressing the situation in the country. However, in contrast to last year’s “Hurricane” by Eden Golan, which spoke about the pain and sorrow following the war, this year’s song centers on hope for a better future. One of the music station managers at “Kan”, Barak Itzkovich confirmed that the song “responds to the war,” but clarified that it does not directly address it. The song emphasizes hope and the light at the end of the tunnel, as reflected in words from the Song of Songs.

This year, unlike last year, there were no issues with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). As a reminder, last year, there were problems with the approval of the song, and concerns were raised that it might not be allowed to compete. However, this year, the process went much smoother, and approval was granted easily.

The committee, which voted secretly to select the song, operated under the strict legal supervision of attorney Tomer Karni, deputy to the corporation’s legal advisor. The members listened to about 50 songs without knowing the creators behind each entry, unanimously selecting the winning song. Another song that came second was also highlighted by the committee members.

Keren Peles – Back in Eurovision!

Last year, Keren Peles wrote the song “Hurricane” along with Avi Ohayon and Stav Beger. Peles stated that she returned from the Eurovision in Malmo with a genuine post-trauma: “I came back feeling what it’s like to be in a reflective environment,” she said after the finale of “HaKokhav HaBa for Eurovision“. Peles wrote and composed the song for Eurovision 2025 alone, with Tomer Biran producing it.
