Eden Golan reveals the song she sent to last year’s Eurovision. The new track debuted as part of the soundtrack for a Hollywood luxury series. Listen to the song!

Eden Golan, who secured a respectable fifth place for Israel at the Eurovision 2024 in Malmo with the song “Hurricane,” launched a new single last week titled “Beautiful Horizon” as part of the official soundtrack for Amazon Prime’s Hollywood series, “House of David.” This is the exact song Eden submitted to the Israeli song selection committee for Eurovision 2024, even though she was already chosen to represent Israel at Eurovision!

Before the last verse of the song, Eden sings a verse from Psalms Chapter 23: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” The song was written by the singer herself, along with Stav Beger (known for the Eurovision 2018 winning song “Toy” and “Hurricane”), who also composed and produced the song, in collaboration with Omri Bar Hod and Jonas Myrin.

“Beautiful Horizon” describes feelings of longing, hope, and deep emotional connection that persist despite physical separation. The lyrics express the difficulty of breathing and seeing during moments of pain, indicating the intense emotional distress of the speaker. The central message is that despite difficulties and distances, one need not feel alone, as there is hope for a reunion at the “beautiful horizon.” This chorus invites listeners to close their eyes and feel closer to home, even though the path there is yet unclear and unknown.

In the continuation of the song, the character describes the music of shared memories as a melody that plays within their soul, strengthening the emotional bond and deep connection between the characters. The promise of return and reunion at the beautiful horizon is presented as a beacon of hope and resilience, conveying a sense of determination and unbreakable love despite all challenges. The message is that love can breathe and continue to exist, and that the heart will not lose its feeling forever, with a promise not to break and to meet again over time in that welcoming and smiling horizon.

It’s interesting to note that both last year and this year, the song submitted by Eden Golan was not chosen to represent Israel at Eurovision; instead, both times, the chosen song was by Keren Peles.

A Historical Drama with a Star-Studded Cast

The song is part of the official soundtrack of the historical drama series, “House of David.” The series depicts the story of King David, following his journey from being a rejected boy to becoming the king of Israel. He faces Goliath (portrayed by Martyn Ford), experiences love and loss, and must navigate numerous challenges on his way to fulfilling his destiny.

The lead role of David is portrayed by Michael Iskander, known for his performance in the Tony Award-winning musical “Kimberly Akimbo”. He was selected after an extensive four-month international search. The cast also includes Ali Suliman as King Saul, Ayelet Zurer as Queen Ahinoam, and Stephen Lang, recognized from “Avatar”, as the prophet Samuel.

A High-Caliber International Production

The series is produced by acclaimed filmmakers, including Jon Erwin (“Jesus Revolution”, “American Underdog”) and Jon Gunn (“Ordinary Angels”). It is created in partnership with Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios. The concept was developed by Erwin, with Dallas Jenkins, the creator and director of “The Chosen”, serving as a special advisor to the production.

Wonder Project is a newly established independent studio dedicated to producing high-quality theatrical films and television series. Their mission is to create inspiring stories that instill hope and reaffirm faith.

Lyrics – “Beautiful Horizon”

I know that it is getting hard to breathe
I know that it is difficult to see
Some things in life you can’t explain
I know that you don’t want to say goodbye
‘Cause there are no more tears left to cry
Sometimes it’s easier to look away

In the silence, in the storm
Miles apart but you’re not alone
Close your eyes, you’re almost home

We don’t know where it starts
We don’t know how it ends
All I know is we are here today
I promise I won’t break
One day wе will meet again
Wait for me and I will see you there
In thе beautiful horizon (Ooh, ooh)
Beautiful horizon (Ooh, ooh)

You will forever be a part of me
Every moment, every memory
Will play inside my soul, your melody

We don’t know where it starts
We don’t know how it ends
All I know is we are here today
I promise I won’t break
One day we will meet again
Wait for me and I will see you there
In the beautiful horizon

On and on and on it goes
Love can breathe
And I won’t let my heart to lose forevermore
‎גם כי אלך בגיא צלמוות
‎לא אירא רע כי אתה עמדי
‎שבטך ומשענתך המה ינחמוני

I promise I won’t break
One day we will meet again
Wait for (Wait for) me and I will (Wait for) see you there
In the beautiful horizon (Ooh, ooh)
In the beautiful horizon (Ooh, oh, ooh)
In the beautiful horizon (Ooh, ooh)
