Zoë Më has been selected to represent Switzerland at Eurovision 2025, which will take place in Basel. The song she will perform on the Eurovision stage is expected to be revealed on March 10th.

The Swiss national broadcaster, SRF, has announced that singer Zoë Më will represent Switzerland at Eurovision 2025 in Basel. The artist was chosen through an internal selection process by the local television network. The competition song is set to be unveiled on Monday, March 10th at 10:00 AM.

This revelation from Switzerland comes as a surprise, following a period of silence regarding their representative and song for the upcoming contest throughout the season. The announcement was unexpectedly brought forward from its initially planned date of March 10th, for reasons that remain unclear. Switzerland’s participation follows Nemo‘s victory last year with the song “The Code“. The Swiss representative will perform their song in the first semi-final of Eurovision 2025, which will take place on May 13. However, since Switzerland is the host country, it will automatically qualify for the grand final, which will be held on May 17.

Who is Zoë Më?

Zoë is a Swiss singer born in Basel, who typically performs in French and German, blending what she describes as chanson with poetic pop. Although she grew up in Freiburg, Germany, she has always felt a strong connection to the French language and its musicality1.

Zoë Më rose to public prominence in 2024, winning two awards from the Swiss national broadcaster – one from the German-speaking division and another from the French-speaking division. She has performed at several prestigious Swiss festivals, including the Lucerne Festival.

In recent months, Switzerland has faced a major upheaval regarding the referendum in Basel about the Eurovision budget. Ultimately, two-thirds of the residents of Basel voted in favor of funding the event, while only one-third voted against it. The referendum was held after, contrary to expectations, the Swiss Federal Democratic Union (EDU/UDF) party managed to gather enough signatures to proceed.

It appears that after all the challenges faced, Switzerland has decided to showcase its multiculturalism through its representative. Zoë Më speaks both French and German and sings in both languages. It’s possible that her Eurovision entry will combine these two languages, emphasizing Switzerland’s cultural diversity.
