Luxembourg in Eurovision 2025: Singer Laura Thorn took the stage for her second rehearsal with the song “La Poupée Monte Le Son”. Stay updated with all the reports from Basel, Switzerland…
Luxembourgish singer Laura Thorn is the fourth contestant to rehearse today on the Eurovision 2025 stage in Basel, Switzerland, with the song “La Poupée Monte Le Son”. Laura Thorn will perform as song number 13 in the second semi-final, which will take place on May 15th in Basel. This year’s competition features 37 countries.
In the video released from the rehearsal, you can see the differences and changes from the Luxembourgish national final. At its core, the performance is similar, but much more dramatic and larger in scale. The choreography is similar and resembles the movements of marionette puppets. Laura is accompanied by five dancers dressed in burgundy suits with open jackets and matching mesh shirts underneath. Laura’s dress is similar to the one she wore before but much puffier, and she pairs it with tall silver boots that reach up to the middle of her thigh, just under the dress. She is on the front stage with the frame, and behind her, the screens display graphics of a dollhouse in dark pink and burgundy tones. The LED floor matches the design, and the lighting is mostly pink with white flashes.
Further details about Luxembourg’s performance
The performance itself is dynamic, and the focus here is on the theme of the song and the doll motif. The screens create a static set of a dollhouse, and she dances in front of it with her five dancers, who imitate the movements of puppets on strings. Occasionally, there are flashes like electricity, and the dancers act as if they are being electrocuted. The vocal performance is nice, and the backing vocals are very prominent in some parts of the song.

Luxembourg in Eurovision 2025
“La poupée monte le son” (in English: “The Doll Turns Up the Sound”) is the title of the song to be performed by singer Laura Thorn, who will represent Luxembourg at Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. Laura’s song was written by Christophe Houssin and Julien Salvia, and also composed by Ludovic-Alexandre Vidal – this is these creators’ first song in the Eurovision competition. The song is performed in French.
The song is a tribute to the immortal song with which Luxembourg won Eurovision 1965, 60 years ago – “Poupée de cire, poupée de son“. The song deals with female empowerment and liberation from outdated and limiting social patterns. The overall message is a call for women to rise above limiting perceptions, make their voices heard, and take control of their lives:
Luxembourg is currently in 31st place in the betting odds for Eurovision 2025.
