Luxembourg’s Eurovision 2026 representative, Eva Marija, held her first rehearsal in Vienna with the song “Mother Nature.” Stay tuned for all updates from Austria.

The stage in Vienna seemed to take on a life of its own. From the very first sound, it was clear this was no routine rehearsal, but a performance designed to consume the entire arena. Eva Marija stepped onto the stage as if she commanded every element surrounding her.

The song “Mother Nature” opens with the giant screens filling with earthy tones and awakening vegetation, turning the hall into a living, breathing environment. Butterflies, birds, and blooming buds are brought to life around her through graphics and staging, and Eva Marija does not remain still for a single moment. She moves freely across the stage, interacting with the visuals as though they are real creatures responding to her.

Luxembourg’s First Rehearsal:

Constant movement and a dress that tells a story

Dressed in natural shades, Eva Marija maintains the design line seen at the Luxembourg selection while elevating it for the international stage. The previously visible trousers are gone, replaced by a layered, flowing gown that allows near-floating movement. She runs, turns, and covers large parts of the stage, with the fabric moving with her and amplifying the airy sensation.

Clear upgrades from the national selection – thinking about the European audience

The performance that already won the Luxembourg national selection did not remain identical. Clear adjustments can be seen for the Eurovision 2026 arena: increased use of screens, more interaction with the space, and a focus on creating a complete experience rather than only a vocal delivery. The feeling is of a show rebuilt to fill a venue such as the Wiener Stadthalle.

Luxembourg will perform the song fourth in the second semi-final, an early position that still leaves a strong impression thanks to the distinctive visuals. It already appears that, at least from a staging perspective, Luxembourg has secured the attention it was seeking.

Mother Natureis the song that will be performed by the singer Eva Marija, which will represent Luxembourg  as song number 4 in the second semi-final on May 14th, in Vienna, Austria. The song was written by Eva Marija herself, together with Thomas Stengaard, who has been responsible for many Eurovision songs, including the winning entry of Eurovision 2013, “Only Teardrops”, Maria Broberg, who was among the writers of Poland’s 2023 entry “Solo” and Moldova’s 2019 entry “Stay”, and Julie Aagaard, who co-wrote the United Kingdom’s 2025 song “What The Hell Just Happened”, Austria’s 2024 entry “We Will Rave”, and Malta’s 2022 song “I Am What I Am”. The song is performed entirely in English.

Currently, Luxembourg is ranked 17th in the betting tables ahead of Eurovision 2026.

Eurovision 2026: This will be Luxembourg’s 40th participation in Eurovision. Luxembourg joined the competition in 1956, was one of the seven founding countries, and has won it five times over the years. Luxembourg’s last victory was at Eurovision 1983 with the song “Si la vie est cadeau” performed by singer Corinne Hermès. In 2024, Luxembourg returned to the competition after a 31-year absence.
