Competition in the first semi-final is heating up, and Essyla is emerging as a contestant who will be very difficult to ignore. Essyla revealed a breathtaking performance that changes everything we thought about the first semi-final. In a mesmerizing rendition of “Dancing on the Ice“, she set a bold visual bar that reshuffles the deck and directly threatens her competitors. Will the frozen show set within a snowstorm be enough to secure her a ticket to the Grand Final?
Belgium’s second Rehearsal: More Details
The short video released from the Belgian rehearsal begins exactly at the start of the chorus: Essyla is surrounded by four dancers performing choreography to the rhythm of the song, all dressed in white clothing representing neutrality alongside the background colors. The singer is dressed like the dancers, also in a white outfit from which many threads emerge, while her right arm and leg are covered by sleeves, her left arm and leg are exposed, and her neck is covered by a kind of thick collar. The segment features many fast and varied camera angles coming from different directions each time. It appears in the clip that the singer is indeed managing to perform the song well, succeeding in moving around rather than remaining completely static. Toward the end of the clip, the artist showcases more of her vocal abilities, and the segment cuts off exactly at the climax, leaving viewers curious as to whether she will manage to finish the note correctly. Additionally, the dancers approach her, wrap themselves around her, and display further hand movements as if they are emerging from her.

A Bold Display of Ice and Fire
During the segment, the entire stage can be seen initially with the screen behind it split into two colors – blue and orange – spreading across the stage to provide a contrast between the ice she is dancing on and the erupting fire. After the dance sequence in the chorus, the two colors descend and disappear from the screen, and as the chorus ends, the entire stage is filled with a single orange line along its length, emphasizing the drama before the end of the song. Meanwhile, the stage continues to fill with orange lights flashing to the same rhythm as the track.
Will such a powerful performance be enough to coveted ticket to the Grand Final?
