SHWR:
The band SHWR is a Lithuanian group formed in early 2018, consisting of pianist and composer Dominykas Kazimieras Krulikovskis, drummer Jonas Filmanavičius, bassist Vainius Indriūnas, and lead singer Simonas Krukonis.
Early on, the band competed in several prestigious competitions for young bands in Lithuania, which pushed them to create and release their debut album, “Shampoo”, showcasing their alternative style. Eurovision fans first got to know them when they competed in the Lithuanian national selection “Eurovizija.LT 2024” with the song “Impossible”, finishing in a respectable second place. In 2026, the band returned to the national selection with “!Contact”, which again earned them second place. Many argue that Lithuania made a mistake by choosing Lion Ceccah over them. Would Lithuania have placed higher with the band? We will never know.
Moniqué:
Monika Pundziūtė, better known by her stage name Moniqué, is a leading pop singer and music star in Lithuania. Her breakthrough occurred when she won first place in the third season of “X Factor” in Lithuania, instantly making her one of the biggest promises in the local music scene.
Over the years, Moniqué has released successful albums, collaborated with international record labels like Warner Music, and even earned prestigious nominations at the Lithuanian Music Awards (M.A.M.A). In 2020, she was marked as one of the favorites to fight for the right to represent Lithuania at Eurovision with the song “Make Me Human”, finishing in second place.
Paulina Paukštaitytė:
Paulina Paukštaitytė is a young Lithuanian singer, songwriter, and voice actress born on December 22, 2000, in Marijampolė, Lithuania. Paulina began her musical journey at a young age, participating in various local and international singing competitions. Her public breakthrough came following her participation in “Lietuvos balsas” (The Voice of Lithuania), which exposed her unique voice to a wide audience and established her position in the local pop scene.
Today, she continues to develop an extensive musical career alongside her work as a voice actress. In early 2023, she competed in the Lithuanian national selection “Pabandom iš naujo!” with the song “Let Me Think About Me”, finishing fifth in the grand final.
Vilnius Voices:
The Lithuanian vocal ensemble Vilnius Voices, comprising 14 performers, is known for its rich, multi-layered vocal harmonies that add a unique volume to their performances. The group’s musical repertoire is diverse, ranging from original compositions in Lithuanian to live covers of pop hits and excerpts from famous musicals (such as the song “Satisfied” from “Hamilton”), to arrangements of historical and traditional pieces. Notable members include Kristina Žaldokaitė, Diana Gružauskaitė-Arkauskė, Monika Švilpaitė-Rogoža, Julija Jarutytė, Rimantas Žaldokas, and Uosis Galkevičius.
The ensemble gained wide exposure and significant attention in the local music scene following their participation in the Lithuanian national selection for Eurovision 2026 with the song “Grįšim” (in English: “We Will Return”), written by group member Monika Švilpaitė-Rogoža. As we explained in our “Breaking the Law” series, a maximum of six people are allowed on stage, which is why only six members of the group performed in the Lithuanian selection.

She experienced her breakthrough in Melodifestivalen 2023, where she competed with her song “Never Give Up”, successfully advancing to the final and finishing in ninth place. A year later, she competed in Melodifestivalen 2024 with her song “When I’m Gone”, qualifying for the final and placing fifth.
Molly Hammar:
Molly Hammar is a successful Swedish singer and songwriter, known for her powerful voice, warm tone, and musical style that blends pop, R&B, and soul. Her public breakthrough arrived in 2011 when she participated in “Idol” in Sweden, reaching fourth place. Since then, she has solidified her status in both the local and international scenes.
Her initial breakthrough into the Eurovision world occurred thanks to her participation in Melodifestivalen 2015 with the song “I’ll Be Fine”, where she finished sixth in the first heat. The following year, she returned to the festival with the song “Hunger”, reaching the “Second Chance” (Andra Chansen) round. Concurrently, she took part in writing the song “Walk on Water”, which represented Malta at Eurovision 2016, and even served as a backing vocalist for the track.
Smash Into Pieces:
Smash Into Pieces is a band formed in 2008 by musicians Benjamin Jennebo, Per Bergquist, Isak Snow, Viktor Vidlund, and Chris Adam Hedman Sörbye. The band members joined forces to create music together, quickly establishing their path in the Swedish music scene while combining the styles and experiences each of them brought to the table.
Just a year after its formation, the band released its debut single, “Fading”. The song found success in the country and peaked at number 33 on the official Swedish singles chart, a fact that marked the beginning of the band’s breakthrough and put them on the local music map.
Eurovision fans got to know the band when they first competed in Melodifestivalen in 2023 with the song “Six Feet Under”, which became a massive hit in Sweden and finished third in the selection – which included that year’s Eurovision winner, Loreen. A year later, in 2024, they returned with the song “Heroes Are Calling”, which also finished in third place. In 2026, the band returned to the selection with the song “Hollow”, which earned them fourth place.
Dotter:
Dotter, the stage name of Johanna Maria Jansson, 39, is a highly regarded Swedish singer and songwriter. She is well-known and particularly beloved by Eurovision fans mainly due to her four participations as a performer in Melodifestivalen. Dotter first participated with the song “Cry”, with which she was eliminated in the semi-final stage (6th place in the semi-final).
After that setback, Dotter returned bigger than ever in 2020 with the hit “Bulletproof”, which was the huge favorite of that year. The song reached second place in the final, just one point behind the winner. The following year, Dotter returned with the song “Little Tot”, this time finishing in fourth place. Dotter took a short break that ended in 2024 when she returned with the emotional ballad “It’s Not Easy To Write A Love Song”, but unfortunately finished in 12th and last place in the final.
As we reported this week on our website, Dotter and Maria Sur are expected to return to the Swedish national selection for Eurovision 2027. Would you like to see them represent Sweden? Let us know!
